#KokomoSummerReadingProgram
The Kokomo Howard County Public Library promised adventure with the Summer Reading Program, and so far, it has delivered. Over the past week, the library has featured a carnival filled with games, an exercise in creating fantastical maps, engaging story times, and so much more.
The Summer Reading Program is designed to reward readers of all ages with special activities, achievements, and the promise of some exclusive pool time at Kokomo Beach.
Even if readers missed the launch of the program on June 7, it’s not too late to get started. Visit any KHCPL location and register for the program, and then start reading.
Once registered, readers can track their progress with a Summer Reading game board, placing a sticker on the map with each reading session completed. After reading for seven consecutive days, participants can return to the library for a prize and a special achievement sticker.
If you miss a day, use a "Power-Up" sticker to cover the gap. Those with four week-long reading streaks completed qualify for the Splish-Splash Final Bash at Kokomo Beach on July 25. But there's no time to dally at this point. Join the program now to get those streaks completed.
To help the reading along, participants can utilize the Beanstalk app to track progress if the game board method isn't to their liking. And there are plenty of activities scheduled at the library's three locations that reward readers as they race to another completed streak.
