Drugs are bad, mm’kay? And they have a history.

The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library is ready to show the community just how drugs have proliferated through modern society. It will house a temporary display in August and September focused on the history of mild-altering drugs in the U.S.

The display, entitled Pick Your Poison, was provided by the National Library of Medicine. It features the history of drugs such as tobacco, alcohol, opium, cocaine, and marijuana. Panels explore the various uses of each drug throughout American history, as well as images, records, and other historical information.

The library will host the display through late September at KHCPL Main, 220 N. Union St. The exhibit is free to explore during the library’s regular open hours.
