On July 26, 2024, the Kokomo Police Department was dispatched to a dog park in the 200 block of South Main Street regarding the battery of an elderly male in a wheelchair. A review of surveillance video in the area revealed a male and female battering the victim.
The Kokomo Police Department is attempting to locate the female suspect in the attached photograph for questioning related to the battery. The suspects were also in the park with about five dogs.

Motorcyclist injured in vehicle accident
On August 9, 2024, at approximately 7:19 a.m., officers of the Kokomo Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Washington Street at Monroe Street in Kokomo for a serious bodily injury motor vehicle accident.
From preliminary investigation, 24-year-old Joshua Grimes, from Kokomo, Indiana, was driving a silver 2005 Chrysler Town and Country eastbound on Monroe Street and stopped at Washington Street. Grimes then continued eastbound across Washington Street when a motorcyclist was southbound.
The motorcyclist struck the van on the left rear driver’s side and the operator was ejected from the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and suffered life threatening injuries from the collision. The driver was transported to a local hospital and then subsequently flown by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital for more extensive treatment of injuries. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending family notification.
