The Howard County Sheriff’s Office announced an important update to the public mass notification system. On Dec. 1, 2025, the notification system will transition from Rave Public Safety to the Howard County Sheriff’s mobile app.
This will serve as the primary method to deliver urgent notifications to the community.
The app is available free of charge for iOS and Android devices through their respective app stores. The app is designed to keep the community informed and safe by providing emergency alerts, community notifications, and public safety information.
The app also is integrated with the National Weather Service to send weather-related warnings and advisories as needed.
Residents are encouraged to download the app prior to Dec. 1 to ensure uninterrupted access to safety alerts.
