No need to wait in anticipation. “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” will do the Time Warp again tonight at Rhine Hall and Events. The two-day production, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the cult classic film, returns to the stage Sat., Oct. 25. Doors open at 7 p.m.
The production, directed by Amanda Duncan, takes place at Rhine Hall for its second year, and as is tradition for screenings of the film, this stage production is interactive. Yes, the audience gets involved.
Before the show, those in attendance get the opportunity to meet the cast in-character and pose for photos, they also get a taste of what the evening has in store. Then, it’s up to the main hall where the production begins.
As this is a screening of the film with re-enactment taking place on stage, the audience gets the see how the actors interpret the original.
For Clarissa Vasquez, her front-row seats just weren’t enough. An obvious veteran of Rocky Horror screenings, she shouted out the traditional audience responses, through confetti during the wedding scene, wore newspaper on her head when it rained, and generally had the full experience.
“I love Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I think that’s it’s such a fun thing to be able to see live theater,” said Vasquez. “I think they put on a great production. Being able to be a part of it as an audience member is super fun.”
And Vasquez had high marks for the cast and director; so much so that she would love to join the cast for its 2026 iteration, should it return to Rhine.
“It absolutely does make me want to do it,” said Vasquez. “I love theater, and I love the show that they put on. I think they did an amazing job. Amanda seems like a great director, and the whole cast seems like they get along really well, too.”
Dr. Frankenfurter’s castle will welcome guests again this evening, and tickets are still available. General admission is $55, and the VIP experience, which includes a pre-show cast party, a toast, and a commemorative shot glass, is $70. Tickets are available at www.rhinehallevents.com.
Rhine Hall Event Venue is located at 507 N. Union St. in downtown Kokomo.
