Fire Truck Pull
Howard County Special Olympics will hold a Fire Truck Pull on Sun., Nov. 23, in the Family Farm and Home parking lot in the Walmart Plaza. The first pull begins at 2 p.m., and you can test your strength! Create a team of up to 10 people to see who can pull a fire truck 50 feet the fastest. The cost is $40 per person. Kokomo Common Council
The Kokomo Common Council will meet on Mon., Nov. 24, beginning with an informational session at 5:30 p.m. and a public meeting at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 100 S. Union St. The council will consider a resolution to establish an economic development area, an ordinance to issue bonds not to exceed $50 million for construction within the Kokomo wastewater collection and treatment system, and an ordinance to establish an increase in wastewater rates. A public hearing will be held on the rate increase.
DSI Food Drive
DSI Together with Bona Vista is holding a food drive through Nov. 24. The organization will collect non-perishable, unopened, and unexpired food items to donate to local food pantries. Donations may e dropped off at The Crossing, 1221 S. Plate St., during normal hours of operation.
QMA-Insulin Admin Class
A QMA-Insulin Administration class will be held at Ivy Tech Community College - - Kokomo Campus on Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. A state exam will follow at a time to be determined. Participants must provide evidence of working in a facility with a registered nurse to log QMA-Insulin clinical hours, a state-issued ID card or driver’s license, and proof of a valid QMA. Turkey Trot
The Kokomo Family YMCA will hold its annual Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning, Thu., Nov, 27. Join them to work off the holiday calories while racing or strolling through downtown. Save $5 on registration by using the code WOBBLEGOBBLE at checkout, or register as a group of four to 10 racers for a $5 per person discount. All proceeds will benefit the YMCA’s annual campaign. City of Lights
Highland Park’s City of Lights, a beloved holiday tradition, will illuminate Highland Park starting on Fri., Nov. 28. Visitors can drive through the display every evening starting at dusk. The lights will stay on all season, and Santa Claus will be there from 6-10 p.m. through Dec. 24.
Frozen Sandlot
Kokomo Municipal Stadium will transform into The Frozen Sandlot this winter, featuring a 60-foot by 90-foot rink with real ice. The Frozen Sandlot will operate from Nov 28 through Jan. 11, 2026. Admission is $7 for skaters for the day, including skates. Admission is $5 for those bringing their own skates and for spectators. Skates will be available to rent, and skate sizes vary from Children size 8 to Adult size 13. Tickets can be purchased at the rink with cash or cards. Lights in the Airpark
Lights in the Airpark, a walkable holiday light experience included with Grissom Air Museum admission will take place Thursday through Sunday from Nov. 28 until Dec. 31 from 4:30-9 p.m. The Grissom Air Museum is located on the Grissom Air Reserve Base at 1000 W. Christmas at the Seiberling
Christmas at the Seiberling will officially open Sat., Nov. 29, with a lighting ceremony. Santa will arrive at 6 p.m. on Opening Night to help flip the switch and light up the mansion and grounds. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students ages 18 & under. The Seiberling Mansion is located at 1200 W. Sycamore St. The mansion will be open Tuesdays-Sundays from 1-4 p.m. and on select evenings from Nov. 30 through Dec. 30. The mansion is transformed annually for the Christmas holiday, artfully decorated by local organizations and individuals. Coat Drive
Items are being accepted now for a community coat drive. Coordinated Assistance Ministries, the Carver Community Center, Refreshing Springs Church, and Rhine Hall Events are teaming up to provide winter clothing to those in need. The coat drive will take place Thu., Dec. 4, from noon until 2 p.m. at Rhine Hall, 507 N. Union St. Donations of coats, scarves, hats, gloves, sweaters, backpacks, boots, socks, handwarmers, and blankets will be accepted. Winterfest

Home 5 the Holidays
Kokomo Civic Theatre presents “Home 5 the Holidays,” the theatre’s Christmas show for 2025. KCT’s very own boy band will perform five-part harmonies on classic Christmas tunes and original songs, laugh-out-loud skits, and more. Youth Symphony
If your child has ever air-conducted an orchestra with a pencil, played air violin to movie soundtracks, or just loves music, the Kokomo Symphony Youth Programs are calling. The programs are an inexpensive way to teach violin, cello, or bass locally. A second semester of classes will take place from Jan. 4-May 3, 2026. Beginning Strings classes for children in third grade or higher and with fewer than two years of experience will run from 4-5:15 p.m. Intermediate Strings classes for children with two to four years of experience will run from 5:15-6 p.m. The classes are designed for children to advance to the Kokomo Symphony Youth Orchestra.
