Carver leads annual spring event with plenty of prizes
The spirit of community and celebration will be on full display this weekend as the Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Carver Community Center on Saturday, April 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This highly anticipated event continues to be a highlight for local families, bringing together children, volunteers, and organizations for an afternoon full of joy, connection, and fun.
Open to youth across three age groups, 3–4 years old, 5–7 years old, and 8–10 years old, the event is thoughtfully organized to ensure every child has an engaging and age-appropriate experience. Each group will have access to items and activities tailored specifically for them, creating an inclusive environment where all kids can participate and enjoy the excitement of the hunt.
One new addition this year is sure to make the experience even more special. While many children have traditionally brought plastic bags from stores like Walmart or Walgreens to collect their eggs, this year each participant will receive a colorful straw basket. This first-time feature is made possible through the generous support of Center Township, adding an extra layer of care and intentionality to the event.
Beyond the egg hunt itself, families can look forward to a wide range of giveaways and prizes. Easter egg baskets, gift cards, a Golden Egg Card, snacks, and juice will all be available throughout the afternoon. One of the most exciting highlights each year is the opportunity for youth to win bicycles, a giveaway that continues to bring smiles and lasting memories.
Organizers are also prepared to adjust plans if needed due to weather, as they have done in the past. Even in the event of rain, the celebration will continue, ensuring that the community can still gather and enjoy this special time together.
This event would not be possible without the support and collaboration of numerous community partners, including Road Knights, Elks, Daughters of Elks, Kokomo Mobile Riders, American Legion, AKAs, Omega Psi Phi, NAACP, Second Baptist, Center Township, Carver Center, and the Kokomo Chapter, IBE.
