Gamers and storytellers of all kinds are invited to the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library’s second annual Library Con. Taking place Saturday, May 16, Library Con will include games like Dungeons & Dragons, board games, Live Action Role-Play, a costume contest, workshops, a vendor hall and an outdoor movie night. All activities are free, and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
The bulk of the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at KHCPL South, 1755 E. Center Road. Beginning at 11 a.m., the library will offer a vendor hall, a Pokemon scavenger hunt, a Lego build, Live-Action Role-Play, and crafts for all ages. Children can enjoy a live Mario Kart track.
At noon, visitors are invited to join in the cosplay parade around the library, immediately followed by the costume contest. Winners will receive a prize. Workshops will take place throughout the day, including one focused on cosplay props at 11 a.m., a game master panel at 1 p.m., and miniature painting at 3 p.m.
The fun will migrate to KHCPL Russiaville beginning at 4 p.m. with nerdy trivia. Winners will receive a prize. Dungeons & Dragons will start at 5:30 p.m., and participants are asked to register online at khcpl.org under the “events” tab or by calling 765-883-5112. Starting at 9 p.m., the library will host an outdoor movie night with a family-friendly film.
