This youth-focused program, built upon the foundation of the adult Food as Medicine diabetes education program, will offer education and interactive, hands-on lessons to Howard County children, ages 10-17 years old to promote nutrition, physical activity, limiting sugary and energy beverages, and more.
This one-day class will take place at the Purdue Extension – Howard County office, and it will be facilitated by Allison Hillis, Howard County Extension Director, and Lisa Washington, RN, Minority Health Alliance Director. Facilitators will use evidence-based curriculum, including Operation Fit Kids and Steps to a Healthy Teen to teach the course.
