This article is brought to you by the Community Foundation Serving Howard, Clinton, and Carroll Counties. Think you know what a Community Foundation does? There are a lot of misconceptions about community foundations, and we’re here to clear a few of them up.
The truth is our work goes far beyond scholarships and grants. We partner with generous donors, nonprofits, businesses, students, professional advisors, and community leaders to create lasting impact across Howard, Clinton, and Carroll counties.
The City of Kokomo is inviting residents and visitors to Kokomo Municipal Stadium this summer for two free community events celebrating family fun, entertainment, and America’s 250th birthday. Both events are part of the City’s Stadium Under the Stars Series and are free to attend.
The series begins with “250 Minutes of Fun” on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. The event transforms the stadium into a giant community playground featuring activities for all ages, including a petting zoo, obstacle course challenge, large games, run-the-bases opportunities, vendors, and city vehicles on display. Concessions will be available for purchase, and swag prizes will be distributed while supplies last.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, celebrate America’s 250th birthday, and experience everything our community has to offer in a fun, welcoming environment,” said Mayor Tyler Moore. “We want our Municipal Stadium to be a gathering place where neighbors can make memories together.”
The second event, “MJ Experience,” takes place on Friday, August 7. Stadium gates open at 5:30 p.m., with the featured showing of “Michael” beginning at 9 p.m. on the largest screen and stage in town. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the outdoor movie experience.
Before the movie begins, attendees can participate in a dance contest for ages 2–13 and a Michael Jackson look-alike contest for ages 13 and older, with cash prizes awarded to winners. Concessions and photo opportunities will also be available throughout the evening.
Both events will be held at Kokomo Municipal Stadium, 400 S. Union St., and admission is free.
