The community is invited to the 12th Annual Samaritan Caregivers Gospel Concert on Sunday, August 23, at 6:00 p.m. at One Church, 2734 S. Washington St. Join them for an evening of worship, fellowship, and outstanding gospel music. No tickets are required. Admission is by free will offering, and everyone is welcome.

New this year, the event will feature a limited VIP Pre-Concert Reception for just 40 guests at $25 per person. VIP guests will enjoy a delicious hors d’oeuvres buffet catered by Windmill Grill, reserved front-row seating, an exclusive meet-and-greet with Josh Townsend and Matt Gerhard, and one entry into a VIP basket raffle.

Samaritan Caregivers is a nonprofit organization serving seniors throughout Howard County. The Gospel Concert is its second-largest fundraiser of the year, and every dollar raised directly supports programs that help local seniors remain independent.

Funds from this event provide free groceries and essential household necessities to more than 60 low-income seniors, transportation to medical appointments, minor home repairs, companionship, lawn care, and many other vital services that allow our clients to continue living safely in their own homes.

This year the organization has added a little friendly competition. It is challenging area churches and organizations to see who can bring the largest group to the concert. The winner will receive a special appreciation concert by Matt Gerhard at their church or facility, along with ice cream from Cone Palace for everyone to enjoy.

The concert will feature favorite hymn sing-alongs and inspiring performances by award-winning gospel pianist Josh Townsend from Nashville, alongside local favorite Matt Gerhard.
