The sound of banjos, fiddles, and mandolins will echo across western Howard County once again this August as the Winding Creek Music Festival returns. But there’s something wandering in the woods this year.
That’s right. There has been a Bigfoot sighting!
Make sure to visit the Winding Creek Music Festival, Aug. 13-16, as a fantastic line-up of bands are joined by vendors, music instructors, a Sunday 5K, and that hairy forest recluse and his friends.
Tickets for the Winding Creek Music Festival are on sale now and can be purchased at www.windingcreekmusicfestival.com. A discount is available for buying tickets prior to Aug. 1. See the site for prices on single-day, three-day, and four-day tickets. The Sunday family ticket includes admission for two adults and up to four kids for just $20.
Family and Cosmetic Dentistry of Kokomo announced it will host its 13th annual “Smiles for Vets” free dental care day on Friday, September 11, 2026. The event will provide critical, complimentary dental treatments to Indiana veterans as a tribute to their service.
The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the practice’s office, located at 5111 Clinton Dr., Kokomo, IN. Veterans can receive free limited dental exams, health screenings, cleanings, fillings, and extractions on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees must bring a photo ID or a military ID card to check in.
“Smiles for Vets is our favorite day of the year because it gives our team and local volunteers a meaningful way to honor the individuals who have sacrificed so much for our country,” said Dr. Melissa Jarrell, DDS.
In addition to free dental procedures, the community celebration will feature free food, drinks, games, and gifts to create a welcoming and fun environment for visiting veterans.
Veterans seeking more information about the event or available services can visit the official Smiles for Vets Event Page or call the practice directly at 765-453-4369.
