Annual festival takes place Aug. 14-17

Okay folks, I have some important information for you. I have been talking with my long-time friends Bob Auth and Duane Davis. As you may know, they are the program coordinators and hosts of the Winding Creek Bluegrass Festival.

The 2025 edition of the Winding Creek Bluegrass Festival is set for another fantastic program. This year is the 16th year Bob and Duane have hosted the festival.

The dates for this year's event are Aug. 14-17, 2025. The bands are set, and they have another fantastic line up including: The Grascals, Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers, The Wayfarers, Larry Efaw and the Bluegrass Mountaineers, Branded Bluegrass, Brad and Lori Lambert's Mini Opry, the Booze Hounds Bluegrass, the Bahler Golden Age Band, Alec Hurtubise’s tribute to his uncle Jack Ford, Medicinal Bluegrass, Keyton Romero Band, Stones Crossing and Winding Creek Friends.

Throughout this great festival, visitors can take advantage of workshops to learn the basics of fiddle, mandolin, and banjo. There is also a workshop for children, and those who participate will have the opportunity to perform Saturday night.

At this great festival you will have a chance to immerse yourself in the world of bluegrass, country, slow jam, folk music and even gospel music. Whether you are in the mood to sit back and listen or you are interested in learning how to play, the festival offers something for everybody.

This event draws people from all across America. People come to camp, listen, perform, and learn how to play a variety of instruments used in bluegrass music. There will also be food vendors, music accessory vendors, and a beer and wine garden near the stage. The site offers free camping for tents and RVs, and pets are allowed for those camping. There is also plenty of shade on-site. Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs.

The winding creek bluegrass festival will run rain or shine with ticket prices varying each day, Children 12 and under are free. You can find more information on this year's festival, including a full line up of bands, performers, workshops, ticket pricing, and more at their website: http://www.windingcreekmusicfestival.com.

Golly folks, if you have ever attended the Winding Creek Bluegrass Festival, you know what is going on. I am certain you will want to mark your calendar and start making plans to attend the 2025 festival.

My wife and I have attended all but one of these festivals and most of them were with her father, Dick Baker. He has passed away, but we still look forward to it every year. We started attending with our daughter and son-in-law several years ago. You might be correct in assuming we are a bluegrass family and proud supporters of Bob Auth and Duane Davis's efforts to host such a great event.

I hope to see you there, and I will also be hosting an "Outdoors with Bud" podcast with Bob Auth and Duane Davis, talking about the 2025 Winding Creek Bluegrass Festival a few weeks prior to the event.

You will notice their ticket prices have increased slightly. This was a difficult decision, but it was deemed necessary to keep Winding Creek going. The festival has had the best prices compared to many other bluegrass festivals. They hope you, their faithful supporters, will understand.
