Camels, goats, chickens and more visited Jackson Morrow; take advantage of KPRD's Park Passport Program
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department welcomed an assortment of animals to Jackson Morrow Park as part of its Creature Feature programming in May.
Hundreds of kids and their families descended upon the park to get up close and personal with a camel, chickens, goats, calves, and even had opportunities to take a pony ride.
Of particular interest was the camel, which happily gobbled up treats from people willing to feed it. But every animal got plenty of attention, delighting young and old alike.
The Creature Feature was just one in a series of animal-centric events taking place at Jackson Morrow Park this year. The next event happens this Saturday, June 14, as Birds of Prey return to the Kirkendall Nature Center at the park.
There are two showtimes for the Birds of Prey, from 11 a.m. until noon, and from 1-2 p.m. These events are free and open to the public.
The Creature Feature is also one of the signature events taking place in Kokomo's parks this summer as part of the Park Passport program. Attending a Creature Feature will earn participants a badge toward a grand prize package at the end of the season.
