Solidarity’s Car, Truck & Bike Show attracts a steady crowd
From low rumbles to aggressive growls, the aspirated exhortations of an army of classic cars kicked off summer at Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union's 15th annual Car, Truck & Bike Show on June 7.
Examples of automotive ingenuity filled the lots at the southside home office, attracting hundreds of aficionados and families. And no one went home disappointed.
The show routinely brings out the best rides Kokomo and the surrounding area have to offer, with meticulously maintained models unaltered from the day they left the factory floor parked alongside creatively customized cars covered in chrome.
Those in attendance spent time marveling at the machines while reminiscing about days when each make and model made its mark on highways and backroads across America.
For the more casual visitors, the vehicles surely brought smiles, and the pulled pork sandwiches offered by The Love Bug Food Truck kept bellies just as pleased. Kids young and old also kept cool with a treat from Hometeam Ice Cream.
Lunch and dessert were offered free of charge at the event; a feature that nearly overshadowed the hot rods in popularity.
And no car show is complete without tunes to keep toes tapping. Solidarity featured a live DJ who spun classic songs from eras gone by.
Finally, more than 25 awards were handed out to the stars of the show: the cars, trucks, and bikes lovingly displayed.
For those who missed the event, there's no need to worry. Given the turnout for the 2025 event, the 16th annual show is all but a certainty.
