The Kokomo Police Department is again asking everyone to put safety first as they engage in neighborhood trick-or-treating this year. Trick-or-Treat hours are from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Halloween night, Friday, October 31.
KPD asks parents to limit their children to these hours within the city limits. Homeowners should turn on their porch lights to signal they are participating and turn them off if they have run out of candy or do not wish to receive visitors.
The Kokomo Police Department also advises trick-or-treaters to:
- Use flashlights or reflective clothing to make sure trick-or-treaters can be seen.
- Stay in well-lit areas that are familiar to you.
- Trick-or-treat with a group to stay safter.
- Drivers should be extra cautious, as children may run into the street unexpectedly.
- When walking, use crosswalks and cross at street corners.
