Howard County native Allison (Allie) Tomlinson has been named executive director of Resource Development at Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo.
Kelly Karickhoff, vice chancellor of Development and Community Engagement for Ivy Tech Kokomo’s six-county service area, said the development team will benefit greatly from Tomlinson’s skills and experience in building relationships and strengthening communities.
“We are very excited to welcome Allie to the resource development team to enhance Ivy Tech Kokomo’s efforts to raise financial and community support to help assure the success of Ivy Tech students,” Karickhoff said. “With her experience with other non-profit organizations, we know Allie is ready to hit the ground running.”
Tomlinson has cultivated strong partnerships and led initiatives that make a lasting impact. She said she thrives on connecting with people, listening to their stories, and finding meaningful ways to align passions with purpose.
Tomlinson is a graduate of Western High School and earned a Communication Arts degree at Indiana University Kokomo. She is a member of P.E.O. and Women in Business Council and a volunteer for We Care. She is a frequent traveler, book enthusiast, Pilates fan, and as an avid sports fan enjoys cheering on the Indiana Hoosiers, the Chicago Cubs and the Western Panthers. She and her husband Riley live in Kokomo.
“Joining the Ivy Tech family feels like the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for people, education, and community impact,” Tomlinson said. “I have a deep appreciation for the college and the work that they do throughout our community and state. I am excited to be a part of this mission to help ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to obtain an affordable, accessible degree and overall enrich the lives of others.”
Tomlinson brings to the job a decade of varied experiences in public relations and fundraising. Her previous positions include campaign director and communications director for United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, director of client experience and community engagement for Aurora Financial Strategies, and administrative assistant for the Indiana High School Athletic Association and its foundation.
She served as an Indianapolis 500 Festival princess in 2018 and as a student intern served as assistant to Tamika Catchings, the four-time USA Olympic gold medalist, 15-year WNBA star for the Indiana Fever, and motivational speaker.
