MONDAY
Winter Coat Distribution
The Salvation Army, 1101 S. Waugh St., will hold its winter coat distribution on Mon., Nov. 17, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and from 1-3:30 p.m. There will be coats, gloves, and hats available, with sizes and supplies dependent upon donations. Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required. The pantry is accepting donations to help feed the community during the lapse in SNAP benefits. The township is accepting donations of canned vegetables, fruit, and beans, instant potatoes, soup, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, cereal, oatmeal, boxed macaroni and cheese, and shelf-stable milk. Drop off your donations at 213 E. Jefferson St., Mon-Thu from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. or Friday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., Nov. 17. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Meditation Mondays
Experience change, growth, and vitality through meditation with Raine and Sage Healing Center, 901 S. Courtland Ave. Sessions take place every first and third Monday of the month from 10-10:45 a.m. and are free to all. The next session takes place on Mon., Nov. 17.

Field Live! 2025
The IUK Art Gallery, 2300 S. Washington St., will host an exhibition that features work from the IUK Field Journal Volume 10. Almost a year ago, students submitted works from art pieces, to poetry, to research papers. These works were reviewed and narrowed down by Field Journal workers to create a journal that represents the hard work of the students. Join the gallery Nov. 19-Dec. 17 during regular hours to view the work. The gallery will host an opening reception on Wed., Nov. 19, from 4-6 p.m. The IUK Art Gallery is open to the public and free admission.
Howard County Feeding Program
In response to the cessation of SNAP benefits, the Howard County Food Access Alliance and many community partners are offering meal sites across Howard County in November. No income restrictions. No ID required. Join your friends and neighbors at any of the meal sites to a free, warm, freshly prepared meal, and take home a bag of groceries to carry you through for a few days. Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group
Alzheimer’s Association support groups, conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for people living with dementia and their care partners to develop a support system, exchange practical information on challenges and possible solutions, talk through issues and ways of coping, share insight, and learn about community resources.
