The Howard County Historical Society’s Christmas at the Seiberling returns once again to the Seiberling Mansion with opening night on Nov. 29.
“We are excited to ring in the season this year with some Christmas music by showcasing the 2025 theme of ‘The Carols of Christmas,’” Executive Director Anne Shaw said. “The volunteer decorator groups have been hard at work picking their favorite carols to showcase their incredible talents. Local organizations and individuals graciously give their time to make the mansion sparkle.”
“It’s so wonderful to watch each group interpret this year’s musical theme,” said Christmas at the Seiberling committee co-chair and Board of Trustees president Judy Brown. “We are glad to welcome back seasoned decorators as well as some new faces.”
Santa Claus will arrive at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, to help light up the mansion, which signals the opening of Christmas at the Seiberling. He’ll ascend to the third floor of the mansion where he will again greet children in his workshop at various times throughout the season.
Tickets are available for the Nov. 29 opening ceremony, as well as the Candlelight Night set for Saturday, Dec. 20. Tickets can be purchased at the HCHS website at www.howardcountymuseum.org or calling the HCHS office at 765-452-4314.
The Seiberling Mansion will host six nights with free admission courtesy of community sponsors. These nights will be Dec. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19. Musical entertainment will be offered on many of the sponsored evenings.
Visitors are encouraged to bring cash to vote for their favorite decorated room. Donations will support the Historical Society. Each room will have a jar to collect donations.
“That response certainly adds to the pride our decorators take in their work,” Brown said.
This year’s sponsors include The Wyman Group, The Squee Gees, First Farmers Bank & Trust, Ivy Tech Kokomo, Howard County, Community First Bank, the City of Kokomo and Duke Energy.
