The annual Russiaville Community Day will take place Sat., June 6, with events taking place throughout the day. This year’s community day will commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday in a celebration of community and country.
The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m., sponsored by the Russiaville Masonic Lodge. A 5K walk/run follows at 9 a.m., sponsored by AMVETS Post 27.
From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., there will be games for kids and ice cream in the park, sponsored by the Russiaville Lions Club. And from 4-7 p.m. that evening, Hawg Heaven will put on a fish fry, sponsored by the Russiaville Volunteer Fire Department.
Several all-day events will take place during Russiaville Community Day. The Turnabout Block Party will run non-stop, sponsored by Turnabout. There will be an all-day farmer’s market, sponsored by the Russiaville Farmers Market. The Russiaville Police Department will present a day-long car/truck cruise-in, and the Howard County Young Republicans are sponsoring a tractor show.
On top of all this, there will be town-wide garage sales taking place all day Saturday, as well as on Fri., June 5.
