As the school year winds down and summer begins, young artists can keep their creative energy flowing at this year’s week-long Art Camp sessions held every June at the Titan Academy of the Arts. Taught by longtime Taylor High School art teacher MaryAnne Budenz-Dishon, the camps offer an engaging, hands-on experience for children who just aren’t ready to put away their paintbrushes for summer.
Budenz-Dishon brings decades of experience and passion to the program: 37 years of running art camps for kids and 33 years of teaching art at Taylor High School. Her camps are known for inspiring creativity, teaching new techniques, and giving children the opportunity to explore multiple art forms in a supportive, fun environment.
Art Camp Schedule
Session 1 – Young Artists (Ages 4–6): June 8–12, 9:00–10:30 a.m.
Designed specifically for budding young artists, this session introduces children to the joy of making art through age-appropriate projects and materials.
Clay Camp – For All Ages Who Love to Sculpt (ages 7-13): June 8–12, Noon–2:00 p.m.
A special week dedicated to working with clay! From handbuilding to watching a potter demonstrating the art of wheel throwing, students will get messy, creative, and learn the basics of ceramic art.
Session 3 & 4 – Variety Art Camp (Ages 7–13): June 15–19
Morning Session: 9:00–11:00 a.m.; Afternoon Session: Noon–2:00 p.m.
This session is perfect for kids who enjoy experimenting with a variety of art techniques, from painting and drawing to mixed media and sculpture.
In addition to their own projects, students will enjoy live art demonstrations, including hot glass beadmaking, Raku pottery, and throwing clay on the potter’s wheel, offering a glimpse into advanced techniques and creative possibilities. Art Camp at Titan Academy promises a week of imagination, exploration, and plenty of fun under the guidance of one of the community’s most dedicated art educators.
Camp fees range from $45 to $70 per week, depending on materials used. That breaks down to just $6 to $7 per hour, which includes instruction, materials, and the chance to create original artwork.
Each session has a limited number of spots available. Once a class reaches capacity, registration will close. Forms are available now for all sessions.
