Book lovers are invited to the annual Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale, happening April 17 and 18. Each year, the Friends of the Library hosts two book sales where visitors can find books for adults, teens and children, as well as DVDs and Blu-rays, CDs, audiobooks and more. Items are marked at low prices, with many items listed at $1 or less.

The Friends of the Library have so much inventory, the organization has run into a storage problem.

“We really want to get these books into people’s hands,” said Caele Pemberton, president of the Friends of the Library. “It’s a good problem to have – so many books for people to browse. This is a great opportunity for people looking to add to the TBR list without breaking the bank.”

The sale will offer recent best-sellers, romance, classics, science fiction and nonfiction.

On Friday, April 17, the sale will be open only to members from noon to 5 p.m. Memberships are $5 for an individual or $10 for a family and can be purchased at the door. On Saturday, April 18, the sale is open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can purchase materials with cash or card.

The Friends of Library has several volunteer opportunities as well, so anyone interested in becoming more involved can learn more during the sale or by emailing friends@khcpl.org.
