Dozens of hotrods and classic cars defy the rain and heat as summer arrives

Mother Nature tried to derail the Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union’s Car, Truck & Bike Show earlier this month, but the rain clouds cleared up in plenty of time for the event.
Dozens of classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles filled the lot at Solidarity’s home office on Southway Boulevard, and the crowd showed up to see them.
There was plenty for the crowd to enjoy, from free lunch offered by The Love Bug Food Truck and free ice cream from HomeTeam Ice Cream, to music by DJ Pugh. Given the heat that followed on the heels of the rain, the treats and tunes were appreciated by those in attendance.
Solidarity handed out more than 25 awards to the participating vehicle owners, and visitors enjoyed talking with them about the hotrods and classic cars.
