With a new duo of sharp-witted and talented musicians, Dueling Pianos will be back by popular demand Friday, Oct. 9, to headline the 2026 Scholarships for Student Success fundraiser at Ivy Tech Kokomo.
As those who have attended past events know, the audience is just as much a part of the show as the entertainers. The high-energy, all-request, sing-along, clap-along, rock ’n’ roll comedy piano show is designed to raise funds to support students across the six Hoosier counties in Ivy Tech’s Kokomo Service Area.
“After multiple sold-out visits, the Dueling Pianos event has become a community favorite,” said Allie Tomlinson, executive director of Development for the service area that includes Cass, Fulton, Howard, Miami, Pulaski, and Tipton counties. “We’re thrilled to bring in new musicians for what promises to be another memorable night of fun and festivities.”
Tomlinson said this year’s goal is to raise $50,000 to provide direct support for Ivy Tech students, funds that can remove financial barriers and help them stay on track to complete their education.
“We are so excited to welcome back Dueling Pianos for another year of fun, but even more importantly, to help support our students,” Tomlinson said. “Every ticket purchased, every song requested, and every dollar donated allows us the opportunity to help a student in our service area.”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. in Hingst Hall on the Ivy Tech Kokomo Campus with the program starting promptly at 6 p.m. The evening will feature Dueling Pianos, dinner catered by Rozzi’s Catering, a cash bar, and a live scholarship “auction.”
Tickets for the Scholarships for Student Success are $50 each and may be purchased at https://link.ivytech.edu/2026kokomoduelingpianos or by calling Miriam Thomas of the Ivy Tech Foundation at 463-298-0925. Tickets will be available until Thursday, Oct. 1, unless sold out sooner.
“For many of our students, education is the key that unlocks future opportunities. Each attendee of the evening can create a pathway for Ivy Tech students and scholarship,” Tomlinson said. “Ivy Tech students help fuel Indiana’s workforce, so what better way to give back to the next generation while having fun than our Scholarships for Student Success event?”
Tomlinson said Ivy Tech is accepting sponsorships for the event until Friday, Sept. 11. Anyone interested in helping as a sponsor should contact Tomlinson at 463-223-5483 or atomlinson32@ivytech.edu.
“Whether you can endow a scholarship, sponsor the event, or join us for a fun night, your participation makes a difference,” Tomlinson said. “Bring your friends and family members for a night out of fun as we celebrate the generosity of our community and the enrichment of the lives of Ivy Tech students through scholarship opportunities.
Those unable to attend may still support students by donating at ivytech.edu/givenow or calling 463-298-0925.
