A letter to the editor from the Kokomo Downtown Association
The Greater Kokomo Downtown Association and the Alliance are beyond grateful for the continued overwhelming support the community has shown for the Strawberry Festival, now in its 27th year. Through the help of many, we can come together every year and celebrate the arrival of the summer season. This year was no different thanks to hundreds of volunteers, vendors and event sponsors.
We would like to thank our presenting partner First Farmers Bank & Trust for its continued sponsorship and support. We also want to give special thanks to Moore’s Pie Shop, Tastefully Indiana, Scoops Ice Cream, Kokomo Meijer, The Hagerman Group, Chariot Automotive Group-McGonigal and Button, AnyLabTestNow, Advanced Medical Imaging, J & J Electric, King’s Cleaning Solutions, CrossFit Kokomo, Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo, Sam’s Club, Hoppin Good Times, and Target.
We also thank the following community organizations: Rhum Academy of Music; ABATE of Howard County; Community Howard Regional Health; Kokomo-Howard County Public Library; Kokomo Park Band; Kokomo Men of Note; Indiana American Water; American Tool & Party Rental; Wel-Don Pots; SHAK Makerspace; the City of Kokomo Traffic, Street, Parks, Police and Fire Departments; Howard County government and Howard County Emergency Management, Howard County Corrections Road Crew; as well as our vendors, food trucks, and downtown businesses.
This event would not be possible without the many volunteers working behind the scenes. Working for months before the festival are the volunteers serving on the Strawberry Festival Committee. Our sincerest thanks to committee members Heather Hill, Dana Osburn, Julie Keb, Laura Hileman, Jonathan Rogers, Shannon Spencer, Alec Downing, Eric Wuertemberger, Kasey Vincent, Sherry Barker and Dennis Grover.
And last but certainly not least, we thank the more than 150 volunteers who helped on the day of the event to serve thousands of desserts, take tickets, bus tables, and keep the festival area clean and neat.
The commitment to the community shown by all these businesses, organizations and individuals can’t be overstated.
