Of creation, citizenship, and life after death

A letter to the editor

I have three amazing recent events I would like to tell the community about that are very encouraging. Encouragement gives hope. Hope is essential to healthy lives: physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Saturday night, my husband and I were blessed to get to attend a special 20-year celebration of the Creation Evidence Expo in Indianapolis. Dr. Frederick Boyd’s team put on an event to honor those who have helped expose the lies of evolution and expose true racism.

In 1961, Dr. Henry Morris co-authored The Genesis Flood with Old Testament expert Dr. John C. Whitcomb. This work is widely acknowledged as the founding document of the modern creation science movement. Ever since Darwin wrote On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life Christian ministers and scientists have questioned the disregard of the scientific method in his work. Pastor/Dr. Boyd’s goal in life is to proclaim Christ and bury evolution because it is a theory that has been used to justify some humans calling into question the full humanity of other humans.

One of the Creation Evidence past speakers, Dr. Charles Ware, wrote a book exposing Darwin’s ideas fostering the idea of races when in scientific fact there is one race of humans - the human race. Probably 70 percent of the attendees Saturday night had more melanin in their beautiful skin than my husband and I do. When I was looking around the room I was thrilled to see the true Body of Christ.

I was honored to get to sit next to Mrs. Carl Kelly. Her husband, Pastor Kelly, is the late President of the Indiana chapter of the Frederick Douglass Society. WOW! What a man of God Pastor Kelly was. He proclaimed truth throughout the nation in the very spirit of Frederick Douglass by sharing with audiences his love for America.

Dr. Jay Wile, a Nuclear Chemist and author of major science textbooks used throughout the world, spoke on great past and current Christian scientists who are not afraid to say they are not evolutionists. Unfortunately, most people have not heard of Christian scientists, past and present, whose views see no conflict between science and faith in God. The majority of scientists do not like to question evolution, as something they should call a theory, but instead have accepted the idea of random processes creating order as "foundational truth.” Doesn’t this seem ironic? Most acceptors without question of evolution do not accept the idea of truth.

Please come this weekend to hear more of these thought-provoking ideas at Hope Baptist Church 1055 N. Girls School Rd, Indianapolis, IN, this weekend - September 19-21 at 7:00 p.m. You will be challenged but encouraged. Free speech is alive and well in America! https://www.creationevidenceexpo.org/

The second event I want to share is the Biblical Citizenship class that has six more Thursday evening sessions from 6-8 p.m. at Fair Haven Missionary Alliance Church at 1216 S. 300 W. Malfalfa Road. Last week’s discussion was on “Is America worth saving?”

If we are an evil nation, then the answer would be no. If we are a nation, that has not made changes for the good in the past, then why would we want to work to uphold our Declaration of Independence and Constitution?

The third event was a funeral for a precious, amazing 2-year-old. I know the Great Grandma of this little boy. God was honored at the ceremony to celebrate this life. Hope shone through the many tears; hope that all who believe Jesus is the only begotten Son of God and want Him as their Lord and Saviour will see this little boy again alive and well.

Faith should be able to be proclaimed in the public square without violence taking place. I want to learn better how to do that. I very much thank Pat Munsey for letting letters to the editor be published on “tough” topics.

I will close with Scripture: “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3, 4

Very Sincerely,
