Life is full of trials. Even when we’re doing everything we can to walk in a way that pleases the Lord Jesus Christ, there are moments we come up short. Sometimes we get caught up in the moment. Sometimes our words don’t match our heart.
But those moments don’t define us, they grow us.
“For a righteous man falls seven times and rises again…” – Proverbs 24:16
We must not give up. We must not forget who we are. We are His children.
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning…” – Lamentations 3:22-23
In spite of us, His mercy and grace meet us when we turn back to Him. And that turning back, that surrender, is daily.
“I die daily.” – 1 Corinthians 15:31
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” – Luke 9:23
So today, don’t chase a worldly version of “your best self.” The best version of you is Christ. We will never be perfect. We will never fully measure up, and that’s exactly why He came.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
That is the Gospel.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
This is who we are. This is how we walk, repentant, surrendered, and anchored in Him.
