Donald Wayne “Donnie” Whicker

Donald Wayne “Donnie” Whicker, 79, Sharpsville, passed away at 4:20 pm Sunday, October 1, 2023, at his home. He was born March 12, 1944, in Clinton County, Indiana, the son of the late Charlie & Mary Rose (Hinkle) Smith. On November 3, 1979, in Burlington, he married Sharon Gaston who survives.

Donnie was a 1962 graduate of Prairie High School. He was a man that loved to make people laugh and never met a stranger. He retired from Delco Electronics after 33 years of service in December of 1999 as a Fleet Test Technician. His heart was in raising and showing sheep. He taught his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to show. There was not a county or state fair that he didn’t love. Donnie started showing and winning in 4-H and continued showing and winning to the end. He was a director at the Indiana State Fair for 8 years and judged livestock at the Houston Stock Show, Fryeburg Fair and Cumberland Fair, both in Maine, along with numerous county fairs.

A good game of cards, especially Euchre, was impossible to pass up with friends or family. He was an avid basketball player, and he was notorious for pulling out his one-handed shot during a game of HORSE. Donnie loved to travel the US and beyond but sharing the sites with his family and friends was his passion. He was an active member of West Middleton United Methodist Church. Donnie was a Lay Leader and Sunday school teacher for many years at Faith United Methodist Church. He was a Mason for 55 years, a member of Purdue CARET, IHSAA Volleyball Official, and judge for Kokomo Sectional and Regionals Track for over 40 years. Donnie enjoyed going to athletic events both high school and college. Go Purdue!

Along with his wife, Sharon, Donnie is also survived by his daughters, Tammy (Todd) Johnson, Terri (Greg) Hargrove and Donna (Jeff) Pharris; grandchildren, Lynsie (Paul) Ayers, Mike (Allison) Hargrove, Josh Hargrove, Stephanie (Clayton) Simpson, Brandon (Meghan) Hurlock and Trevor (Kaelyn Roberts) Pharris; great-grandchildren, Destiny Hargrove, Kayleigh Rhoton, Sawyer and Hattie Hargrove, Shaelyn, Evan, Graham, and Cooper Simpson, Millie Ayers, Magnolia Hurlock and Callan Pharris; and son-in-law, Neil Hurlock.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Shannon Hurlock.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, October 6, 2023, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street, Russiaville with Pastors Jack Duckworth and Kevin Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Church Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Everette Edward Lytle

Everette Edward Lytle, 88, of Kokomo, passed away at 3:10 pm Thursday September 28, 2023, at Northwoods Village in Kokomo. He was born in Kokomo on January 29, 1935, the son of the late Bill and Alice Annabell (Wolfe) Lytle. On July 31, 1954, he married Donna Bieghler, and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2020.

Everette was a 1953 graduate of Burlington High School. He worked at St Joseph Hospital in Kokomo for 9 years in maintenance. He later retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service in maintenance as a pipefitter. He was a longtime member of Burlington Church of Christ where he helped with Sunday school teaching. He was a board member of the Connie Mack Baseball Club. Everette was passionate about fishing and baseball. He will be remembered for being a family-oriented man.

Everette is survived by his sons, Edward (Cyna) Lytle, Argos, Jerry Lytle, Burlington, Andrew (Dawn) Lytle, Rochester, Terry (Judy) Lytle, Kokomo; brother, Larry (Julie) Lytle, Daytona, FL; granddaughters, Carrie, Courtney, Dennae; grandsons, Joshua, Jeremy (Nicole), Billy (Amy), Daryl (Jena), Shawn (Lulu); 8 great-grandsons, and 10 great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Lytle; son, Dennis Lytle; brothers, Bill Lytle, Jackie Lytle, Bobby Lytle; and sister, Peggy Johnson.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday October 7, 2023, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan Street, Burlington, IN 46915. Funeral service will begin at 1 pm on Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Keith Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Roberta Louise Weaver

Roberta Louise Weaver, 85, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away September 28, 2023. She was born on February 16, 1938, in Kokomo, Indiana the daughter of Loren and Hesper Hundley. On September 12, 1958, she married David Ernest Weaver who preceded her in death on September 10, 2007.

Roberta saved countless lives as an emergency room nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo. She was the school nurse at Hayworth High School for over 20 years. Roberta was the best grandma, loving mother and great friend to many. She loved gardening, going on vacation and playing euchre. Roberta was loved by everyone and will be missed.

Surviving relatives include her son, David Weaver (Lisa) of Florida; daughter, Amy Gerber of Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Farmer, Danielle Weaver, Camron Weaver, Kyle Wilson (Julie Evans), Sheila Lawson (Danny), Airelle Casteel (Daniel), Greyson Guellett (Kaitlyn Trent); sisters, Jane Plake and Kay Robbins; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Raymond and John Hundley, and a great-granddaughter Zamie.



Dennis D. Capps

Dennis D. Capps, 68, Kokomo, passed away at 9:43 pm on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health Center. He was born in Brazil, IN, on November 15, 1954, to the late Howard and Ruby (Habegger) Capps.

Dennis graduated from Madison Grant High School in 1973. He was a truck driver most of his life and spent several years delivering for Star Building Supply. He attended Old Light House Tabernacle in Tipton and loved reading his Bible. He loved spending time with his two kids and was always very supportive.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Amber Capps; son, John (Splendid) Capps; grandson, Kacey Capps; siblings, Shirley (Ron) Hamby, Kenny (Kimberly) Capps, Wayne Capps, Rachel (Jason) Caprietta, Paul (Ka-Lyn) Capps, Simon (Janna) Capps, and Judah Capps; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no services at this time. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory have been entrusted with cremation.
