Gerald Wayne Smith

Gerald Wayne Smith, 77, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital- Kokomo. He was born on March 31, 1946, the son of Allen F. and Opal Pauline (Jeffries) Smith. On November 12, 1966, he married Cecelia A. Branch, and she preceded him in death on December 9, 1997. On July 1, 2000, he married Eulaine M. Delgado, and she survives.

Gerald graduated from Kokomo High School in 1964. He then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University in 1974 and his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1996. He retired in 2001 as the Accounting and Payroll Manager for Chrysler after 35 ½ years of service.

Gerald was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and the Serra Club. He valued his friendships and fellowship with his church family.

Gerald enjoyed playing golf, watching golf, NASCAR, Colt’s football, college football, especially Notre Dame, IU basketball, camping, RVing, and boating. He was active in scouting, both as a youth and as an adult. He served many years as a scout leader. He was a devoted father and coached his sons little league baseball and Jr. High basketball teams. He was an avid supporter of his sons’ activities and was an active band parent to his two oldest sons.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Eulaine Delgado; sons, Brian Smith, and Brad (Andrea) Smith; stepson, Darrin Delgado; grandchildren, Gavin, Carmen, Ryder, Reagan, and River Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his, first wife, Cecelia Smith; and son, Christopher Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 2023, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S 200 W, Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Christopher Shocklee and Rev. Fr. Mike McKinley the celebrants. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Mausoleum. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday, at the church. Dennis “Denny” Leroy Stout

Dennis “Denny” Leroy Stout, 86, Russiaville, passed away at 1:42 am Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born on April 5, 1937, in New London to the late Kennard R. and Reba A. (Tucker) Stout. On October 5, 1956, he married Nancy (Swander) Stout at Main Street Christian Church in Russiaville, and she survives.

Denny was a 1955 graduate of Western High School and a 1956 graduate of Indiana College of Mortuary Science. He worked as a licensed funeral director at Stout & Son Funeral Home for 9 years, where he was one of the founding members of the Russiaville Ambulance Service. He went to work at Chrysler Corporation for 31 years, retiring in 1994. Denny also worked as the Russiaville Town Marshall and worked for Green Acres Golf Club grounds crew. He was a member of Main Street Christian Church, Russiaville Masonic Lodge #82, Russiaville Volunteer Fire Department, and the Muzzle Loader Club. Denny enjoyed golfing, hunting, coaching, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren sporting events, and driving around town on his golf cart with Nancy.



In addition to his wife Nancy, Denny is survived by his children, Kim Rust, Candy (Douglas) Duke, Tammy (Bryan) Slick, and Michael Stout; grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Miller, Rachel (Travis) Guy, Erin (Jon) Burk, Christopher (Misty) Duncan, Nicholas (Melissa) Duncan, Ashley (Brad) Robins, Matthew (Kayla) Slick, Melissa (Jeremy) Pruett, and Marc (Marilee) Slick; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and sisters-in-law, Linda Stout, Mary Kay Hagerman, and Elaine Swander.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Kennard and Reba Stout; brother, David A. Stout; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Stout; and sons-in-law, Phillip Mazza, Mike Rust, and Larry Duncan.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Jeremy Pruett officiating. Burial will follow in New London Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 pm to 7 pm Friday, November 10, 2023, at the funeral home. A Masonic service will take place following visitation at 7 pm at the funeral home, provided by Russiaville Masonic Lodge #82. Martha "Marty" Ellen Glassburn

Martha "Marty" Ellen Glassburn, 68, Kokomo, passed away peacefully at home Sunday November 5, 2023, surrounded by loving family. She was born in Kokomo,Indiana to the late Earl and Melvadine (Crousore) Lunsford on December 2, 1954. On February 22, 1980, she married the love of her life, Timothy W. Glassburn in Kokomo, IN, and he survives.

Marty graduated from Kokomo High School in 1973. She began working at St. Joseph hospital where she worked as a med tech for 14 years. Marty went on to work for Taylor School Corp. as a Custodian/Head Custodian until she retired after 25 years. She took great pride in her work and loved her job at the school.

Marty's love for her family was unmatched. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Marty loved hosting gatherings and parties for family and friends and ventured to many car shows and auctions through the years. She enjoyed many summers at their lake home at Stevenson's Point on Lake Shaffer in Monticello, IN, boating, skiing, and enjoying her children, as well as many trips to their families place in Nokomis, FL. Marty had a special love for her chihuahuas which she always had near.

Along with her husband Tim, Marty is survived by her children Anthony W. Glassburn (Jennelle), Samantha Carpenter (Chris), and Cameron C. Glassburn (Krystin).

Grandchildren Zoey Gatliff, Emma Rayl, and Wesley Glassburn. Sister in laws Martha L. Farris (Mick) and Marsha E. Fox (Tim) as well as nieces and nephews and many friends that became family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Janie and Jim, and father-in-law Wesley W. Glassburn.

Above all else Marty loved her husband and children. Always supporting them and offering help anytime she could. She was a loving, kind and generous soul that will never be forgotten but forever missed.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 11, at Ellers Mortuary 3400 S Webster St. Kokomo, IN 46902, with a burial to follow at Galveston Cemetery with Pastor David Long officiating.

Friends may visit with the family Friday, November 10, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at Ellers.

Rebbecca “Becky” June (St. Clair) Vermilion

Rebbecca “Becky” June (St. Clair) Vermilion, 66, of Greentown, passed away 6:25 am Sunday November 5, 2023, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on October 30, 1957, the daughter of the late Elmer and Pauline (Montgomery) St. Clair. On July 30, 1988, she married Steve Vermilion, and he survives.

Becky held several jobs at Gill’s Pharmacy, King’s Crown Inn, Comet Cone in Greentown, and at the Breakfast House. Her longest tenure was at Rizzo’s in Kokomo where she worked the salad bar. She was a mainly a homebody, but she adored the time that she spent spoiling her grandchildren. She loved listening to country music. Becky was a strong woman and was a fighter in her bouts with cancer.

In addition to her husband Steve, she is survived by her daughter, Alisha Evans; stepchildren, Terry W. (Teri) Vermilion, Angela Locklear, Ryan David Vermilion; siblings, Bill St. Clair, Jerry St. Clair, Diane Ireland, Tom St. Clair, Dane St. Clair; grandchildren, Tyler Paul, Kayla Paul, Kaleb Evans, Khloe Evans, Makenzye Myers, Austyn Myers, Fayth Myers; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Pauline St. Clair; daughter, Amanda Nixon; and siblings, Jim St. Clair, Nancy McGinnis, Jeanie Crabtree, Charles St. Clair.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, November 13, 2023, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville IN 46979. Funeral service will begin at Noon on Monday at the funeral home, with Dave Mygrant officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Becky’s name to Stout & Son Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
