Thomas Lyn “Tom” St. Clair

Thomas Lyn “Tom” St. Clair, 70, of Russiaville, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at his home. He was born October 8, 1953, in Belleville, Illinois, to Elmer C. and Pauline I. (Montgomery) St. Clair. On June 14, 1975, he married Gloria Phifer, in Russiaville, and she survives.

Tom graduated from Taylor High School in 1972. He began working for Chrysler as a job setter at Kokomo Transmission Plant on October 30, 1972, and worked there for 34 years before retiring on January 31, 2006. After retirement, he continued working and learned he enjoyed driving a dump truck and delivering flowers. He worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation, Davidson Excavating, Banner Flower House, and Stephens Bulldozing. He looked forward to his retiree breakfasts at Cracker Barrel and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling with Gloria and going to concerts that featured ‘60s and ‘70s rock and roll. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandpa. He always worked hard to provide for his family, and they were truly blessed.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, Gloria St. Clair, survivors include his daughter, Erin St. Clair; daughter-in-law, Lydia St. Clair; grandson, Clyde Sauve; granddaughters, Jayleah St. Clair and Camary Sauve; great-grandson, Dante Riddle; brothers, Bill (Diane) St. Clair, Jerry St. Clair, Dane (Mary) St. Clair, and Dean Kelly; sister, Diane Ireland; sister-in-law, Phyllis St. Clair; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Travis St. Clair; father and mother-in-law, William and Wanda Phifer; and siblings, Jim St. Clair, Nancy McGinnis, Jeannie Crabtree, Charles St. Clair, Rebbecca Vermilion, and Ross Crabtree.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Russiaville Cemetery with Evangelist Kevin Kay officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville. Roy E. Palmer

Roy E. Palmer, 84, of Sharpsville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo, after a battle with prostate cancer. Roy was born on October 11, 1939, in McRoberts, KY to the late James K. and Rosa E. (Sturgill) Palmer. Roy married Lena (Paul) Palmer on June 8, 1970, and she preceded him in death in 2015.

Roy grew up in Big Stone Gap, VA, and was a graduate of Powell Valley High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a millwright at Chrysler in Kokomo. Roy was an avid golfer and enjoyed tending to his garden.

He is survived by his brother, Chester Palmer, Kingsport, TN; son, Paul Palmer, Oakland Park, FL; and his stepdaughters, Terry (Joe) Jonaitis, Fairbanks, AK, Julia (Dan) Carey, Alexandria, IN, Tracy (Rocky) Rogers, Lowndes, MO, Jill (John) Pluckebaum, Key West, FL.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years, Lena M. (Paul) Palmer; and his siblings, Henry Palmer, James Palmer Jr., Dorothy Sturgill, and William Palmer.

There will be a time of visitation for Roy on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Burial will be at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Wise County, Virginia at a later date.
