Arthur “Art” Allen Pearson
Arthur “Art” Allen Pearson, 90 years old, of Kempton, passed away 5:55 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. He was born in Hamilton County, IN, on June 21, 1934, the son of the late Kenneth and Esther (Shook) Pearson. On May 20, 1952, he married L. Colleen Johnson in Michigantown, IN, and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2016.
Art was a 1952 graduate of Forest High School. He served his entire life raising hogs, chickens, and farming in Kempton and surrounding areas. Art was a simple, hard-working man. He had a quiet and reserved demeanor. His hobbies were gardening, being outdoors, watching the Pacers, Indiana Fever, and Purdue basketball. Art will be remembered for always wearing his bib overalls, a hat, and going to Taco Bell. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters Addie and Harper.
He is survived by his children Connie Irick, Gloria (Max) Martin, Mark (Judy) Pearson, Tami (Mike) Snyder, Jeff (Linda) Pearson, Kent (Dana) Pearson, and Judi (Steve) Johnson, brother Warren (Jerri) Pearson, sister-in-law Carolyn Hobbs, grandchildren Amy Irick, Cory Martin, Shawn (Randi) Chambers, Jeremy (Heather) Chambers, Michael (Tori) Chambers, Lydia (Bryce) Clenndenning, Cheyanne (Alan) Price, Nyree Snyder, Ben Knapp, Nate Knapp, Niki Pearson, Alex Pearson, and Danielle (Brian) Hammond, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings Jim (Betty) Pearson, Hazel (Charles) Townsend, and Martha (Bob) Gee, son-in-law John Irick, brother-in-law Basil Johnson Jr., and sisters-in-law Deloris Taylor, Helen Laughner, and Rheba Carter.
Art’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sherry Nuss, Heather, Skyler, Tony, Sarah, McKenzie, Josh, Jonathan, Mitzi, and the rest of the staff at Waterford Health Campus for the excellent care they provided to him.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, April 25, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979. A funeral service celebrating Art’s life will begin noon on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Jamie Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, IN. Gregory Keith Long
Gregory Keith Long, 63, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away at his home on Friday, April 18, 2025. Born June 25, 1961, in Kokomo, Greg was the son of the late Howard C. Long and Patricia L. (Obermeyer) Witter. On November 27, 2013, Greg married Angela Moore, who survives him. Together they shared a loving home and many cherished memories.
Greg graduated from Carroll High School in 1979 and went on to build a life filled with laughter, family, and hands-on creativity. Greg had a gift for making people laugh with his quick wit and love of telling jokes. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Known for his ability to fix just about anything, he also dabbled in woodworking—skills that reflected both his patience and creativity. Greg’s warm heart, graciousness, kindness, selflessness, and humor will be deeply missed. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
Along with his wife Angela, Greg is also survived by his children Macen (Corina) Long and Megan (Nick) Miller, stepchildren Michael (Jennifer) Taylor, Lindsay (Jaime) Campos, and Brady (Malissa) Arnold, grandchildren Willow Kinsey, Myla Long, Oaklynn Long, Vivian Long, Maddox Williams, Madelynn Williams, Finn Arnold, Eisley Miller, and Finnley Miller, sisters Kathy Shambaugh and Pam Long, his stepmother Sue Long, mother and father-in-law Jack and Lorealee Moore, niece Adrienne Niverson, many cousins, and his beloved canine Waylon.
Greg was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Pat and Bill Witter, and his father Howard Long.
In keeping with Greg’s wishes, no services will be held. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation.
