After basic training in San Antonio, Texas, he spent the next three years at K.I. Sawyer Air Base in Marquette, Michigan, where he became an avid lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers. Marvin’s working career after the Air Force was spent mainly at the now defunct Kolux Sign Corp. in Kokomo, IN., and he retired from the now defunct Steel Parts Corp. in Tipton, IN. Marvin was a long-time member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Tipton. He and his wife Annie cleaned the church for about 10 years.
