She had a lifelong love of music, which she passed to her three children. Verla had an immense love for people. Her children often discussed how blessed they were to be raised by a mother who loved people like she did. As her family continued to grow, great- and great-great grandbabies arrived. She would say “they can call me Granny the Great” because that sounded so much better than great grandma. Throughout her very long battle with Alzheimer’s, Verla continued to be kind and appreciative. One of her most used phrases was “Oh well, life goes on, but God is good.” Throughout her health journey, she had the absolute best care. We are very thankful for Bloom Assisted Living and Memory Care, Century Villa Health Care, and AseraCare Hospice.
Surviving family include her husband James D. Boyd, her children Dale Boyd, Marcy (Tim) Stahl, and Kathleen (Matt) Bassett.
