Evelyn Geneva Padfield
Evelyn Geneva Padfield, 91, of Kokomo, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025. She was born April 29, 1934, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Prentice Aaron and Julia Olene (Bartley) Gerald. On May 27, 1950, she married Everett “Odie” Padfield, who preceded her in death on October 4, 2014.
Evelyn worked as a greeter for Meijer for many years and previously worked at Hallmark and Delco Electronics. She was a great communicator, homemaker, and caretaker. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cooking. She was a member of Courtland Avenue Church of Christ.
Evelyn is survived by her children Jill Enstrom, Steven Padfield, David (Sharon) Padfield, and Jon (Laura) Padfield; grandchildren Mark (Carrie) Enstrom, Matthew (Barb) Enstrom, Daniel Padfield, Sean Padfield, Alan Padfield, Elizabeth (John) Connolly, Sophie Padfield, Victoria Ricks, and Vanessa (Kyle) Wilson; great-grandchildren Victoria Enstrom, Logan Enstrom, David Enstrom, Sarah Enstrom, Willow Wilson, Violet Young (on the way), Colt Padfield, and Victoria Young; and nephew Mike (Leann) Padfield.
Along with her husband Everett, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Alan Enstrom; daughter-in-law Shari Padfield; grandson Jason; siblings Geraldine Wisler and Vivian Davis; niece Debra Cook; and nephew Mike Wisler.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with John Penrod officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Kinzleigh Marie Joan Acord
Infant Kinzleigh Marie Joan Acord, 4 days, was gathered into the arms of Jesus at 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. Kinzleigh was born October 17, 2025 in St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo, the daughter of Jordan Darren & Faith Elizabeth Rose (Russell) Acord.
Kinzleigh is survived by her loving family: parents Jordan & Faith Acord; siblings Katie Wade and Kaidan Acord; Nonnie Rose Marie Rush; Nany Amy Newsome; Grammy Patti Russell; Papaw Gary Shackleford; Grandpa Jim Watson; and many aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother Sharlot Joan Acord Murphy and cousin Trevor Buckley.
A funeral service will be held at Noon Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Crossroads Community Church, 4254 S. 00 EW, Kokomo, IN, with Pastor Dave Welsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Heaven’s Hands Infant Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects one hour prior to the service at the church. Michael “Mike” L. Hunt
Michael “Mike” L. Hunt, 76, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born September 3, 1949, in Kokomo, Indiana, he was the son of Virgil C. and Roberta E. (Lightfoot) Hunt. On June 24, 1972, he married the love of his life Mary L. (Riley) Hunt, who preceded him in death on April 6, 2016.
Mike was a 1967 graduate of Haworth High School. He retired from Delco Electronics/Delphi as a tool and die and mold maker after many years of service. Throughout his life, he had many passions and pursuits. In his youth, he enjoyed snowmobiling. He played football for the Kokomo Chiefs and enjoyed weightlifting, winning state in 1981. Mike was an avid Corvette fan, as he was a member of the Corvette Club of Mississinewa Valley. He enjoyed dragstrip racing and building and racing go-karts with his children. Mike served on the NRA Committee and helped put on the annual NRA Banquet for many years.
Mike’s honorable and dedicated service to his country in the United States Army included two tours in Vietnam. He was Sergeant (E5), Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, U.S. Army. Call sign “Roadrunner1”, he was platoon RTO and mission point man.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, son, uncle, and godfather. He was member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. The nuns of Poor Clares in Kokomo held a special place in his heart. Mike was a master carpenter who was a part of St. Patrick Catholic Church’s restoration in 2005, and he built an altar for Blessed Sacrament Church in West Lafayette. He also restored several restaurants in Kokomo and a log cabin in Burlington. He built numerous decks, tables, and furniture, and created military plaques, keepsakes, and special items for his family. Mike also engaged in CNC routing and spent time with his fellow CNC routing club members. Mike adored his “pet” squirrels, rabbits, ducks, and all things nature. often leaving his “pets’” food right outside his window at home. Mike was known best for his kindness, generosity, and his ability to embrace life at the fullest.
He is survived by his son Sam D. Hunt and Heather Hunt; daughters Lisa M. (Scott) Sipes and Jenny (Wes) Gamblin; grandchildren B. Dodds, Ashlye Dodds, Molly Sipes, Adam Sipes, Haydn Hunt, Grace Gamblin, Carter Hunt, Matthew Sipes, Andrew Dodds, and Marianna Hunt; sisters-in-law Sandra Cross, Kathryn (Ken) Van Hoose, and Sherry Riley, all of Kokomo; nieces and nephews Mary Margaret (Jeremiah) Smith, Michelle England, Maria (Frank) Michael, Craig Cross, Jennifer (Dan) LaShure, and Clint Van Hoose; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends who have been absolute blessings in his life and supported him through many difficult times.
In addition to his loving wife Mary L. Hunt, Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil C. and Roberta E. Hunt; his brother and sister-in-law Dale E. and Patty Hunt of Port St. Lucie, FL; and his in-laws Dallas and Marguerite Riley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., with Rev. Fr. Theodore Dudzinski as the celebrant, and Rev. Fr. Peter Vanderkolk the concelebrant. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and Kokomo VFW Post #1152 Military Rites Team. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, and one hour before Mass on Thursday at the church. A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday before the start of visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Michael’s memory. Nova Marlene (Herron) Albrecht
Nova Marlene (Herron) Albrecht, 88, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on October 24, 2025. She was born on July 15, 1937, in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of George Edward Herron and Dora Virginia (Miller) Martin. On July 26, 1956, she married the late Arnold Albrecht.
Nova was a 1955 graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked at various places throughout her life including, Base Exchange in Hawaii, Montgomery Ward, and Marsh Supermarket. Traveling was a true passion of hers, and a few of her favorite places were Hawaii, Florida, and North Dakota. She also enjoyed crafts such as Stamping Up and crocheting.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Cheryl (Randy) McBee, Pamela (Jim) Kingseed, and Dwight (Carla) Albrecht; half-sister Nancy (Robert) Moloch; aunt Janet Frew; grandchildren Robert Wamser, Timothy (Melissa) McBee, Miranda (Bryce) Silvey, Jessica (Travis) Myers, Brittany (Nate) Cash, Nick (Abby) Albrecht, Heather (Joe) Fincher, and Kaylee (Noel) Horvath; great-grandchildren Ellie and Attie McBee, Elizabeth Wamser, Aubrey and James Fincher, Hudson and Murphy Cash, Nova and Sable Horvath, Remington, Ryder, and Rhett Albrecht, Brynn and Ella Silvey, Sydney (Devin) Fields, Taylee Myers, and Conner Myers; and great-great-grandchild Rylee Fields.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Albrecht; daughter Barbara Albrecht; mother Virginia (Miller) and step-dad John Martin; father George and step-mom Rachel Herron; siblings Kenneth Herron, George Herron, Jerry Herron, Dwight (Nova’s twin), and Edith Blines.
Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home.
