Dennis W. Gallaher

Dennis W. Gallaher, a spirited and intelligent man with a passion for life’s simple pleasures, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at the age of 69 in Logansport, IN. Born on October 13, 1956, in Monticello, IN, Dennis was a man who embraced the world with an interesting and engaging approach.

After graduating from Twin Lakes High School, Dennis embarked on a career that showcased his skillful hands and keen eye for detail. He spent many years as a dedicated welder before taking to the roads as a truck driver, a job that allowed him to explore and appreciate the vastness of the landscape he so loved.

Dennis was a man of many interests. His love for hunting and sport shooting was matched only by the thrill he found while riding his dirt bike through the countryside. His creative side flourished in his workshop where he crafted unique pieces using his welding skills and plasma cutter. An avid reader, he found solace and excitement in the pages of books that took him on countless adventures.

A true outdoorsman, Dennis looked forward to the spring when he could indulge in mushroom hunting, a hobby that brought him closer to nature’s wonders. His hands, often stained with earth, were a testament to his love for the outdoors and the simple joy of being under the open sky.

Dennis’s life was enriched by his loving family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of over three decades, Barbara Gallaher, whom he married on June 25, 1994. His legacy is carried on by his daughters Donna (Howard) Duncan and Sara (Daniel) Hillenberg, as well as his sister Linda Gallaher and brother Steve Gallaher. His grandchildren Chase (Madison Churchill) Duffy, Aubrey Hillenberg, William Hillenberg, Ashley Duncan, and Kirsten Duncan will miss their grandfather’s tales and unwavering support. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Faith Gallaher and his cherished grandchildren Cody Duffy and Zach Duncan.

Dennis’s life was a tapestry of hard work, creativity, and an unyielding zest for the experiences that define our existence. Those who knew him will remember his laughter, his wisdom, and the way he could turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary memory.

As we bid farewell to Dennis W. Gallaher, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. His spirit will continue to inspire those who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his stories will echo in the hearts of his family and friends forevermore.
