Brittany Lynn (Thomas) Gifford
Brittany Lynn (Thomas) Gifford, 41 years old, of Kokomo, passed away Tuesday January 27, 2026. She was born in Franklin, IN, on May 4, 1984, the daughter of Clay Lee Thomas and Christina (Chelf) Phalen. On August 16, 2025, she married James “Jimmy” Gifford Jr., and he survives.
Brittany was a 2002 graduate of Taylor High School. She was currently enrolled online for a coding and billing degree. She formerly worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Brittany was the most kind and polite woman. She was the hardest worker you would meet. She was an animal lover of all kinds, but especially her pet dogs. She is a mother to her three dear children. Brittany loved Jesus and was saved and baptized. She enjoyed singing and was described as having an angelic voice. She enjoyed listening to soul, R&B, and rap music.
In addition to her husband Jimmy, Brittany is survived by her children Alexys Chiamopoulos, Isabella Lee, and Nasir Reese; mother Christina (John) Phalen; siblings Brandon (Ashley Collins) Thomas, Johnny Phalen, and Nik (Hannah Lafollette) Phalen; grandparents Dennis and Darlene Phalen; special aunt Darlene Farmer; special uncle Brian Chelf; a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and plenty of dear friends who will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her father Clay Thomas, her maternal grandparents, and her paternal grandparents.
Brittany’s family requests that you wear her favorite color red to her services in her honor.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. A memorial service celebrating her life will begin 3 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Brittany’s memory to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home to help with expenses. Catherine L. Gerlach
Catherine L. Gerlach, 70, of Tipton, died peacefully at her residence Thursday, January 29, 2026, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Kokomo on October 1, 1955, to Oscar Charles Larson Jr. and Naomi Joyce (Beecher) Brown. She married Lawrence Gerlach in 1986, and they spent 40 years together.
Catherine put her creative ideas to use as a cake decorator, making wonderful memories for several people for special occasions. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Kokomo. She greatly enjoyed ballet dancing. Catherine could often be found tending to her garden and listening to soothing music. She had a huge affection for many animals and worked to support groups in providing care to afflicted ones.
Survivors include her husband Lawrence; son Christopher Jewell of Kokomo; siblings Jeffrey Larson of Kokomo, Steven Larson and wife Tina of Kokomo, and Linda Gunther and husband William of Coatesville. She was preceded in death by children Aaron and Susan Jewell.
No services are planned.

Anthony Wayne Pigg Jr., 5 months old, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Indiana.
He was born on August 18, 2025, in Marion, Indiana, to Anthony Wayne Pigg and Jessica Paige Hyde. Despite his short time on earth, he was deeply loved and brought immense joy to those around him.
Anthony will be forever remembered and loved by his parents; siblings Mikey Pigg of Kokomo, Indiana, Kami Pigg of Kokomo, Indiana, Keesha Pigg of Kokomo, Indiana, Blake Wolfe of Logansport, Indiana, Bryce Wolfe of Logansport, Indiana, Brady Wolfe of Logansport, Indiana, Jasmine Kay Brooks of Peru, Indiana, and Jolyn M. Sinclair of Lagro, Indiana; and grandparents Kay and James Brooks of Peru, Indiana, Joe Pigg of Tennessee, and Sharon Pigg of Logansport, Indiana. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
