Rev. Roy L. King, Bonnie Mae (Jessee) Flintoff, Earl William “Bill” Bowman, Jr., Benjamin M. Dean, Donnie Jay Long
Rev. Roy L. King
Rev. Roy L. King, 93, of Greentown, faithfully finished his earthly race and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior at 9:28 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Century Villa Health Care. A devoted servant of God, Roy’s life was a living testimony of obedience, perseverance, and faith passed from one generation to the next.
He was born on January 4, 1933, in Arkansas to Leslie and Iva (Love) King. On December 24, 1952, he married his lifelong partner in faith and ministry June Ann (Riley) King in Greentown, Indiana. Together, they shared more than 72 years of marriage serving the Lord side-by-side until June Ann went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2025.
A 1952 graduate of Eastern High School, Roy answered the call to serve both his country and his God. He served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant, and later devoted his life to ministry and farming. Roy founded Community Bible Church and Christian School in Greentown, as well as Southview Assembly of God Church. With June Ann’s help, he organized and led numerous mission trips to Haiti, where their hands-on faith helped establish churches, schools, and an orphanage. Their ministry extended far beyond borders, touching many lives. Later, Roy and June Ann owned and operated R & J Auto Sales in Madison, Florida, before returning to Indiana to be near family. No matter where life placed him, Roy and June Ann remained committed to God’s calling. He enjoyed golfing with family and friends and played in his 90s. He also enjoyed working outdoors, and supporting his children in 4-H, often traveling out west to purchase cattle so his children could learn responsibility and stewardship. In his later years, he loved caring for his property, mowing his lawn, and spending time outdoors.
Roy’s greatest legacy lives on through those he loved and led. He is survived by his children Brian (Debbie) King, Cheryl (Brent) Marner, Matthew (Gina) King, and Jeremy (Summer) King; grandchildren Holly (Chris) Collins, Colin Marner, Brean King, Mason King, Carson King, and Grayson King; great-grandchildren Ryan and Camille Collins; siblings Darlene Fitch and Frank (Shirley) King; and many nieces and nephews.
He was joyfully reunited in heaven with his beloved wife June Ann; his parents Leslie and Iva King; his daughter Cynthia King; brother-in-law Jim Riley; and siblings Donnie King, Loeta Frawley, Ellen Singleton, Florence Singleton, Geraldine Gibson, Ray King, and lone Lyon.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Paradigm Hospice and Century Villa Health Care for their faithful service and kindness during Roy’s final days.
A celebration of life and homegoing service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Christian Life Fellowship, 1009 Holiday Drive, Greentown, Indiana, with Pastor Gary Hoover and Pastor Logan Sparling officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Greentown American Legion. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Life Fellowship Missions Fund, honoring Roy’s lifelong commitment to spreading the Gospel. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Messages of condolence may be shared at www.shirleyandstout.com.
Bonnie Mae (Jessee) Flintoff
On February 4, 2026, Bonnie Mae (Jessee) Flintoff passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Legacy at Waterford Place, Kokomo, Indiana. She was 86 years old and was born August 2, 1939, in Dizney, Kentucky, to the late Willie Ray and Almiria (Fields) Jessee.
Bonnie grew-up in the South and really was the daughter of a coal miner and farmer. In her early years, she spent her childhood in the coal mining camps and hollers. As an avid gardener, Bonnie found solace and delight in planting flowers to create a haven of beauty and tranquility in her own yard; yellow roses were her favorite. Swinging on the porch with her grandbabies brought her great joy. She loved shopping for her family and creating what everyone fondly called “Grandma Bonnie bags.” We never could figure out how she could get so many items in a gift bag. She made the best potato salad and “angel” eggs. She also enjoyed sewing, creative decorating, collecting angels, and Elvis memorabilia.
Bonnie’s greatest joys came from raising her family; they were the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her three children: daughters Cheryl (Don) Stafford and Sandra (late Troy) Jeffries and son Matthew (Carla) Flintoff; seven grandchildren Casie (Jason) Braden, Nicholas (Jennifer) Jeffries, Jennifer (Caleb) Abbott, Cory (Lindsey) Stafford, Tiffany (Cody) Leer, Korbon Shelton, and Carlie Flintoff; 12 great-grandchildren Makayla Braden, Aubree Braden, Blake Abbott, Lucas Stafford, Brayden Abbott, Austin Braden, Brylee Abbott, Lee Abbott, Maddox Whisman, Samantha Love, Asher Leer, and Lincoln Stafford. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Almiria Jessee, one sister Edith Scraper; four brothers James Jessee, Carl Jessee, Floyd Jessee, and Dennis Jessee; and son-in-law Troy Jeffries.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Legacy at Waterford Place and Compassus Hospice Care for all their loving care, kindness, and compassion.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie’s memory to the Dementia Alzheimer’s Association. The family will share plans for a Celebration of Life ceremony at a future date.
