Frances (Gish) Breece, Paula Jean Keeney, Robert L. Davis, Dorothy L. Hubbard, Shirley Jean “Mamaw” Short

Frances (Gish) Breece

Frances (Gish) Breece, 80, of Elwood, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born March 4, 1945, in Cass County to Robert and Florence (Wray) Gish. She married Jack Breece on May 24, 1984. He preceded her in death February 17, 2025.

Frances retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo with 30 years’ service. After retirement, she and Jack moved to Spring City, TN, on Watts Bar Lake, then moved to Cape Coral, FL, in 2016. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and dancing.

She is survived by her children Bill and Janie Damewood of Knoxville, TN, Marsha and Seth McCorkle of Elwood, David Breece of California, and Kelli Wainwright of Kokomo. Her grandchildren include Cody Damewood, Nathan and Nicole Lindquist, Brandi Davidson, Bailey and Nathan Herndon, Kaitlyn Wainwright, Nicholas Wainwright, and Ashleigh Wainwright. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Eveie, Emrie, Norah, Kiara, Malyha, Annie, and Skyanne, and one great-great granddaughter Essie. She also leaves behind her favorite child, her beloved dog Casper. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, sister Rita, brother Eddie, and former husband Cliff Damewood.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with services following at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Wynn Stenftenagel officiating. Paula Jean Keeney

Paula Jean Keeney, age 75, passed away on Feb. 6, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Paula was born in 1950 in Indiana to Frances and Dortha Maple, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up in Greentown, Indiana, where she built lifelong values centered on family, compassion, and service to others.

Paula was the devoted wife of Kent Keeney and loving mother of Kyle Keeney (wife Grethel), Kara Ditzler (husband Shannon), Kay Keeney, and Kurt Keeney (wife Melissa). She was the proud grandmother of Schylar, Shelby, Shaden, and Julia. She is survived by her brother Jim Maple and was preceded in death by her brother Pat Maple.

Paula graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and dedicated her life to serving Jehovah. She found joy in gardening and sewing, and she poured that same care into her family and faith. She was known for being loving, supportive, and compassionate — always there for those she loved. Friends and family remember her as incredibly sweet, with a gentle spirit. Paula had such a big heart and made everyone she met feel like family.

A funeral and memorial service for Paula Keeney will be held on Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at: 3630 Sandpoint Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 Visitation begins at 4 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Dinner will take place nearby at 6 p.m. Those wishing to send flowers may deliver them to the Kingdom Hall after 3 p.m. on Feb. 15, though flowers are not expected or required.

Paula will be deeply missed by all who knew her.



Robert L. Davis

Robert L. Davis, 93, of Walton, went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, February 11, 2026, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. He was born on the family farm Thursday, November 10, 1932, to Cecil E. and Mary Helen (Kunkle) Davis. He married Joan L. Wilson on February 16, 1963, in the Young America Baptist Church, and she survives.

After graduating from high school at Onward, he enlisted in the United States Navy to serve his country. Bob came home, started his family, and became a lifelong farmer, raising livestock, pigs especially, and grain on the family farm in Walton. He was a member of the Onward Christian Church and served as Deacon. He volunteered with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cass County for many years. He loved all of his animals on the farm, especially his little dog Sophie.

Surviving family include his wife Joan, his children James (Bridget) Davis, Joseph Davis, Jill (Airl) Coffey, and John (Jaqueline) Davis. His grandchildren include Declan Davis, Ella Davis, Jacob (Emily) Knight, Hannah (John) Bates, Austin (Kristina) Coffey, Corbin (Liz) Coffey, Chris Pegg, and Ian (Karen) Pegg. His great-grandchildren are Kellen Coffey, Amaya Coffey, Miller Coffey, Lennon Pegg, and Kohen Pegg. His nieces and nephews include Dennis and Jody Ramer and Sue and Jim Albaugh. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Ramer, and grandson Chase Hubler.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2026, at Onward Christian Church, with Paul Marcellino officiating. Burial will follow at Onward Deer Creek Cemetery in Onward. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Onward Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chase Hubler Memorial Fund or Onward Christian Church in Bob’s memory. Dorothy L. Hubbard

Dorothy L. Hubbard, 90, of Kokomo, died at 12:00 AM, February 12, 2026, at Legacy at Waterford Place. She was born July 25, 1935, in Powell County, Kentucky, the daughter of Ishmael and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Jane (Townsend) Wilburn. On December 4, 1955, she married Thomas J. Hubbard, who preceded her in death on September 27, 1983.

She graduated from Logansport High School in June 1954 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Indiana University-Kokomo in 1985.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo.

In 1995, she retired from Delco Electronics, where she had worked in Purchasing, Sales, and the Technical Library.

Surviving are two daughters Brenda J. (Ronnie) Richardson and Karen S. (Dale) LeMaster; four grandsons Jason T. (Taylor) Rink, Joel S. Rink, Tyler J. LeMaster, and Ryan P. LeMaster; and two brothers Rudell Wilburn and Donald L. (Eileen) Wilburn. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Fanny B. Tedeschi, and brother Ishmael (Sharon) Wilburn.

Visitation will be held at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, IN, 46902, on February 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow, officiated by Rev. Steve Colter, with entombment at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.

Shirley Jean “Mamaw” Short

Shirley Jean “Mamaw” Short went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 9, 2026, in Kokomo, Indiana. Shirley was born on May 23, 1938, in Harlan, Kentucky, to Lillie and James Busch. She was one of six children in the Busch household.

Shirley was a beautiful and lively person who knew no stranger and could make anyone smile. Shirley married Carol Shelby, and they went on to have four children: Perry, Glenda, Brenda, and Mike. Shirley always had a smile on her face and cheer in her voice and loved spending time with her children.

Sometime later, Carol passed away, and Shirley continued to work and provide for her family and that is where she met her next love, Ronald Short. After falling in love, the two wed and moved to Kempton to put down roots. There is where Shirley’s love of nature and flowers started. She had an eye for color and always made sure her yard of flowers were pruned and perfectly blossomed. Shirley was a true beacon of light with a heart of gold. She loved all, and all loved her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband Carol Shelby; son Perry; and daughter Glenda. She leaves behind her husband Ronald Short, children Mike and Brenda, and many grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

A funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life will take place at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 204 N. Church Road, Sharpsville.
