Mrs. Shelli Ann Hurlocker (Funston), 55, of Leesburg, VA, went to her eternal reward on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Shelli was born July 4, 1970, in Hammond, IN, to the late Jess and Christina Funston.

Shelli was a member of Southdowns Wesleyan Church in Kokomo, IN. She graduated from Lowell High School in Lowell, IN, before earning her B.A. in Music Education from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN.

Shelli had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She enjoyed music, reading, making cards, crafting, and cross-stitching. She served as a pastor’s wife for over 30 years. She taught music in her early career and later transitioned to teaching preschool, which she loved. She influenced young lives in many ways spanning multiple generations in Buffalo, NY; New Castle, IN; Lafayette, IN; Kokomo, IN; and Leesburg, VA. In recent years, she enjoyed being a full-time grandmother.

Shelli is survived by her husband Ronald Charles “Ron” Hurlocker, Jr., of Leesburg, VA; two brothers Dan Funston and his wife Heidi of Elkhart, IN, and Jeff Funston of Lafayette, IN; two sons Ronald Charles “Charlie” Hurlocker III and his wife Lydia Hurlocker, of Leesburg, VA, and Joseph Roy “Joey” Hurlocker and his fiancée Hope Brothers, of Kokomo, IN. She is also survived by her grandsons Ronald Charles “Archive” Hurlocker IV and Ambrose Flynn Hurlocker of Leesburg, VA; two grandchildren Harrison Lee Beauchamp and Audrey Jane Beauchamp of Kokomo, IN; three nieces, three nephews, and one great-niece. She is deeply missed by family and friends alike.

Cremation will precede a Celebration of Life event in Virginia scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026, at 6:45 p.m. at Evergreen United Methodist Church, 19619 Evergreen Mills Rd., Leesburg, VA 20175. The service will be led by Rev. Ellen LaCroix Fillette. A meal will be provided at 6:00 p.m. Please dress casually, as Shelli never enjoyed dressing up.

A Celebration of Life event in Indiana is scheduled for May 23, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren at 311 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN. A lunch will be provided, and there will be space to share stories and memories of Shelli. Casual dress is encouraged.
