Christopher Ty “Chris” Kwiek, Dorothy Lee Purvis
Christopher Ty “Chris” Kwiek
Christopher Ty “Chris” Kwiek, 40, of Astatula, Florida, passed away on May 2, 2026. Born on September 14, 1985, in Tipton, Indiana, Chris lived a life marked by love for his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a deep desire to help others.
Chris was the beloved son of Scott E. and Tabatha L. Kwiek and the cherished brother of Anastacia M. Stone, Bethanne R. Kwiek, and Ryan S. & Jocelyn Kwiek. He was a devoted father to his four children: Jayden Kwiek (19), Tylor Kwiek (17), Braelynn Clark (16), and Ian Kwiek (16). He is also survived by his grandmother Martha J. Bertrand and nieces and nephews Marlayna Kwiek, Loki Lock, Carlisle Lopez, Michael N. Kwiek, Gavin Stone, Samual Stone, Harlie Stone, and Lana and Leo Kwiek. Chris was predeceased by his grandfathers Norman “Bert” Bertrand and Michael Kwiek, as well as his great-grandparents Clifford and Geneva Alberta Burn.
Chris found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, watching sunsets near the water, listening to music, singing, and riding his bike. These activities brought him peace and allowed him to connect with nature and those around him.
Known for his generosity and compassion, Chris often went out of his way to help those less fortunate. He gave freely of his time and energy to support others, even when it meant stretching himself thin. His caring nature extended deeply to his family and children, whom he loved dearly and spoke about often.
Chris faced challenges in life but approached them with resilience and determination. He battled mental illness and struggled with self-medication through drug use but worked hard to manage these difficulties. After completing rehab and finding medications that helped him feel stable and comfortable, he made strides toward recovery. Unfortunately, a pause in treatment led to setbacks that ultimately overcame him.
His passing serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of mental health awareness. Chris’s story underscores the need for understanding and support for those facing similar struggles.
May Christopher Ty “Chris” Kwiek be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering love for his family, and the moments of joy he brought to those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
