Patricia A. Terry
Patricia A. Terry was called home by the Lord on the evening of Saturday, August 1, at Community Hospital Kokomo surrounded by her loving family. Patty was born on May 12, 1951, at Tipton Hospital, the daughter of Robert L. and Freida Mae (Cunningham) Sallee.
Patty graduated from Tipton High School in 1969. That same year, on July 19, 1969, she was united in marriage to Thomas E. Terry at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
She began her working life as a nurse’s aide at Tipton Hospital, serving from 1969 to 1974. Even after leaving paid employment there, she continued to volunteer at the hospital for many years. In 1974, she turned her attention fully to her home and family, and later spent three decades in administration at St. John the Baptist Catholic School until the school’s closure.
The church remained a central and cherished part of her life throughout the years. She found joy in antiques and the hunt of antiquing, visits to wineries, quiet time at the lake, and the beauty of flowers, which she adored.
Patty’s life was marked by quiet dedication to her family, her faith, and the community she served so faithfully.
Along with Tom, Patty’s memory is carried on and cherished by her children Michael (Heather) Terry of Sharpsville and Catherine (Greg) Retherford of Tipton; her grandchildren Brogan (Jake) Ryan, Emily (Elliott) Cage, Mallory (Sam) Davis, and Marisa Retherford (and boyfriend Trey Ehman); and Patty’s great-grandchildren Lainey, Calvin, Tessa, Tate, and a soon anticipated fifth great-grandchild. Also surviving are Patty’s siblings Vickie (Dwayne) Porter of Bardstown, KY, Marlene Grimes of Kokomo, and Susan (Jimmy) Hook of Tipton.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents, her son Brad Terry, and her brother Douglas Sallee.
Visitation will be on Tuesday August 4, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral home. The rosary will be prayed at the beginning of the visitation at 4:00 P.M. A funeral mass for Patty is planned for Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton, with Fathers Adam Mauman and Dennis Goth presiding. Dennis Owens
Dennis was a person of great knowledge, practicing law privately for 20 years at Smith Maley & Douglas and 17 years at American Family Insurance. He also distinguished himself through teaching Commercial Law at IUPUI.
Through his years as a student at Indiana University School of Law, he was a Research Clerk at the Indiana Judicial Center; a Legal Intern for Chief Judge William E. Steckler of the United States District Court, Southern District of Indiana; and served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable George B. Hoffman, Jr., Indiana Court of Appeals. Dennis graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Beloved husband of 52 years to Juanita, father of Heather, Angela, & Kyle (Lindsay), grandfather of Noah, Alec, Levi, Rex, Bradley, and Josephine, Dennis enjoyed imparting to them in-depth knowledge for skills of life, mentoring them through scouts, golf, baseball, school, etc. His mind was exceptionally astute for remembering almost every detail of events through life.
The Owens’ greatest joy was their family’s participation in Old Bethel’s Celebration Puppeteers Ministry, spanning 20 years.
Raised in Tipton, Indiana, son of Leroy and Ruby, Dennis was brother to Steve (Carol), Billy Joe, and Doug, and proud uncle of many nephews and nieces. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Steve, and grandson Rex.
Dennis’s last few words spoken to Juanita: “I love you dearly. Tell the kids and family I love them and all my friends.”
We love you, too, Denny.
Visitation for Dennis will be Tuesday, August 4, from 5-8 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park (9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46229). Additional visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. His funeral will follow at 3:30 p.m.
Dennis will be buried on Thursday, August 6, at 11:00 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.
Evelyn J. (Pitstick) Cooper
Evelyn J. (Pitstick) Cooper, age 82, of West Lafayette (Montmorenci), passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, following a brave battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side.
Evelyn was born to Lawrence and Audrey (Lohr) Pitstick and grew up on the family farm in Remington. A graduate of Remington High School, she lived in the Newton County area until 1990. She then resided in Kokomo, Indiana, from 1990 until 2009. In 2009, she moved to Montmorenci to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She served as Director of Newton County Aging & Community Service from 1979 to 1990. While living in Kokomo, she was a Prudential Agent from 1990 until health reasons led to an early retirement.
Evelyn enjoyed numerous arts and crafts, as well as working with her flowers and blackberry patch in her yard. She possessed a remarkable green thumb. She especially loved getting “starts” of plants from others and propagating her own to share with family and friends. She was proud of her beautiful yard and numerous house plants, many of which she started decades ago.
Above all, Evelyn’s greatest accomplishment was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought great joy and meaning to her life. She loved large family gatherings that brought multiple generations together. At her home, she adored her four cats that brought her many hours of companionship.
She is survived by her children Julie (Mike) Paxton of Oxford, IN, Sara (Brad) Bishop of West Lafayette, IN, and Benjamin (Theresa) Strole of LaPorte, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ethan Paxton, Jocelyn (Brandon) McCombs, Mason (Kendall) Bishop, Cade (Lexie) Bishop, Marleigh (Samuel Gerber) Bishop, Patrick Bishop, Jake Bishop, Lucy Bishop, Maggie Bishop, Charlotte Bishop, and Willow Strole; her great-grandchildren Adalyn, Hudson and Owen Knobloch, and Wyatt and Everleigh Bishop; and her siblings Linda (Tom) Templin, Nancy (late Brad) Grenard, Barbara (Jim) Jewell, Richard (Mary) Pitstick, Rodney (late Sandra) Pitstick, and Sharon Pitstick. Additionally, she is survived by multiple nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her son Trooper Todd Burman; her grandson Nicholas Strole; and her parents Lawrence and Audrey Pitstick.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Oxford, IN. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Private burial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Evelyn’s name to any local pet shelter to support their spay-neuter programs.
Sandy Rena Howell
Sandy Rena Howell, 54 years old, of Kokomo, passed away 10:08 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at her home in Kokomo, IN. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on June 10, 1972, the daughter of Dennis M. Howell and Norma (Cook) Marley. Sandy has been with her partner Shari Fellers since 2011, and she survives.
In her youth, Sandy was a member of Salem Baptist Church, where she was baptized. She was a graduate of Eastern High School. She was very active and excelled in several sports like volleyball, basketball, softball, swimming, and track. She had employment at several places like Meijer, Wabash National in Lafayette, and a convenience store in Greentown. Her longest tenure was with the Post Office as a clerk. She proudly served our country in the United States Army, earning the rank of Specialist until she was Honorably Discharged. She was a war veteran during Desert Storm. She received several honors like a Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, and an Expert Marksman Qualification Badge.
Sandy was known to help anybody in need and for being a hard worker. She was an artistic woman which showed in her crafting, wood burning projects, and tattooing skills. Her favorite hobbies were fishing, watching racing, and anything else related to being outdoors. Above all, Sandy cherished the time she spent with her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her partner Shari, Sandy is survived by her mother Norma Marley; siblings Cindi (LeeJay) Lanning, Tim Howell, Nicole Mills, and Natalie Alcorn; uncle Jerry Cook; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Dennis Howell; brother Ronnie Howell; and brother-in-law Mike Alcorn.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. A funeral service celebrating Sandy’s life will begin 11 a.m. on Thursday with Paul Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery. Vicki Lynn Nethercutt
Vicki Lynn Nethercutt, 75, Monticello, passed away at 10:39 a.m. Sunday, August 2, 2026, at White Oaks Health Center in Monticello. She was born October 26, 1950, in Porter County, Indiana, to Robert and Renada (Williams) Allen. On October 17, 1975, she married Dennis Nethercutt, and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2018.
Vicki Worked as an LPN at Chase Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She cherished her family and even wrote a family cookbook. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, reading, writing, and had a love for wildlife and her pets. Most of all, Vicki loved time spent with family.
She is survived by her son Jason McDonald and his children Kody McDonald and Myles (Elana) McDonald, great-grandchildren, Kayson, Kyser, Kylan, Ryker, and Olivia; daughter Deana (Timothy) Byroad and their children Justin Byroad and Dakota (Cody Flesher) Byroad, great-grandchildren Hazel and Hank; brother Rick (Denise) Allen; and sister-in-law Paulette Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother Larry Allen

Carlton Long
Carlton Long, 97, of Windfall, died peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Community Rehabilitation Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Toxey, Alabama, on July 24, 1929, to Thomas Emory and Clara (Robinson) Long. He married Willie Mae Horton on December 23, 1950. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2022.
Carlton was a hard-working gentleman, working in the construction trade. He did enjoy the simple pleasures of the outdoors, hunting and fishing and of course, tending to his garden in the summer. He was a member of the Bethel Tabernacle in Kokomo. His faith held him steady.
He is survived by his children: Ronald (Jacqueline) Long of Windfall, David (Pamela) Long of Windfall, and Cindy VanVoorhis of San Diego, California. Siblings include Jerry Donald Long of Gilbertown, Alabama, and Laverne Coody of Toxey, Alabama. Carlton was blessed with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons James and Robert Long and a daughter Belinda Sue Leverage. Carlton was also preceded in death by a grandchild, two great-grandchildren, three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Branstutter presiding. Burial at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall will follow. Visitation will also be on Thursday from noon until the service.

Jody M. Widner
Jody M. Widner, 71, of Logansport, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026, in Community Hospital North, Indianapolis.
Born March 20, 1955, in Logansport, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and May Belle (Rinehart) Titus.
On July 20, 2007, in Logansport, she married Warren D. Widner, who survives.
Jody retired from Haynes International Inc., where she took great pride in her work. A proud member of the Steelworkers’ union, she believed deeply in looking out for one another. At home, she found joy in the little things, tending her garden, nurturing her flowers, and treating herself to a scratch-off ticket now and then.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years Warren D. Widner; sons Justin (Kalli) Bedilion, Joshua Bedilion, and Jarrod Bedilion; brother Kenny (Karla) Titus; sisters Vicky (Mike) Key, Kim (Dave) Willis, Julie DeFord and Susie Kesler; grandchildren Christian (Erica) Bedilion, Chelsea (John Wert) Bedilion, Carmen Bedilion, and Emma Bedilion, and great-grandchild Niklauc Wert.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, August 6, in Fisher Funeral Chapel

George J. Williamson
George J. Williamson, 90, of Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2026.
On January 20, 1936, George Joseph Williamson was born in Logansport. He was the treasured son of William Moses and Teresa Lafferty Williamson. George went to elementary school in Twelve Mile and graduated from Logansport High School with his class in 1954.
After high school, George answered the call of patriotism by becoming a member of the United States Army. Returning home following his honorable discharge, he married Judy Hickman of Logansport in 1958. From their 18-year union came three wonderful children Marc, Bruce and Diane.
In 1988, George married Jan Williamson of Culver and was happily married until she passed away on November 19, 2020.
With a strong work ethic, George worked at Delco in Kokomo as an electrician and served the company as a supervisor in several departments. He taught Junior Achievement and attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Rochester. George is best remembered as a superb DIYer, possessing great skill with his hands, blended with his supreme problem-solving abilities. He could fix, retrofit, improve, or fabricate anything needed by his family or friends.
George is lovingly remembered by his children Diane (Steve) Smith of Clawson, MI, and Marc (Linda) Williamson of Rochester; five grandchildren Matt (Marci) Williamson, Alex Williamson, Marie Smith, Bruce Smith, and Anna Smith; the mother of his children Judy Williamson of Logansport; and known as Uncle George to Anne McCune, Bill Davey, George Davey, and Tere Takak.
Preceding George in death are his parents; his wife Jan Williamson; two sisters Patty and Rosie; a brother Leo; his son Bruce Williamson; and a nephew John Davey.
George’s family want to thank Dad’s nurse Meagan Spain of Heart-to-Heart Hospice, and his caregivers Nettie Schwartz, Elizabeth Schwartz, Emily Taylor, Christina Rose, Kim Conley, Cindy Packard, Misty Woodcox, Angie Walker, Melissa Lett, Neasha Pollay, and Diana German for your professionalism, compassionate care, and attention you gave our Dad during his time of greatest need. A celebration of the life of Mr. George Joseph Williamson will be at 12:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Rosemary Miller
Rosemary Helen Miller, affectionately known as Rosie, passed away on July 28, 2026, in Culver, Indiana, at the age of 80. Born on October 2, 1945, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Earl Davey and Eileen Kiernan, Rosie was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life.
Rosie’s personal life was filled with joy and love. She married Mark Miller, and together they shared 58 years of marriage, blessed with children and grandchildren who brought immense happiness into her life.
She is survived by her husband Mark; daughter Leigh Miller (Mike Novak) of Naples, Florida; and sons Craig Miller (Lisa) of Plymouth, Indiana, and Evan Miller (Leigh) of Indianapolis. Rosie’s legacy continues through her grandchildren Sophia Franz (Alex), Kiernan Dally, Maclean Miller, Vivy Miller, Miles Miller, and great-grandson Luke Fernando Franz. She also leaves behind her sister Susan Osborn of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Kathleen Hoffman.
Rosie’s hospitality was legendary. She wanted every guest in her home to feel welcomed, important, and loved. An expert chef, she loved entertaining and took great joy in feeding and caring for her family and friends. She was also an avid skier, enjoyed travel, and cherished games with her close circle of girlfriends. Rosie graduated from Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond, Indiana, before continuing her education at Stephens College and Indiana University. Her early career saw her as a model for Marshall Fields Department Store in Chicago. After raising her children, she transitioned into real estate, obtaining her license in Kokomo, Indiana, where she made significant contributions to the community.
During the Vietnam War, Rosie supported her husband Mark while at the Naval Station Guam, showcasing her strength and resilience. In Kokomo, Rosie became deeply involved in local affairs. She served as the President of the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and was a board member of the Kokomo Symphony Foundation. Her commitment to service was also evident in her active participation in organizations like Tri Kappa and P.E.O. Rosie’s kind spirit, stylish presence, and unwavering loyalty to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 29 at the Maxinkuckee Country Club, 1641 E. Shore Drive, Culver, Indiana, from 3-7 p.m., where friends and family will gather to honor Rosie’s remarkable life. A private interment will be held in Culver at a later date. Thomas “Tom” Anthony Renie
Thomas “Tom” Anthony Renie, 83, of Danville, Indiana, passed away August 1, 2026. He was born September 1, 1942, in Tipton, Indiana, to the late John and Virginia (Cage) Renie. Tom was a 1960 graduate of Tipton High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Butler University in 1964. He began his career as a physical education teacher with IPS School Corporation, retiring as Department Head after 40 years of service. Tom married Jean Michele Nolan June 5, 1965, and she preceded him in death June 5, 2024, after nearly 60 years of marriage.
Tom was a baseball coach with IPS Schools for more than 30 years and a member of the Indiana Officials Association. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and canoeing. Tom absolutely loved his hometown of Tipton, Indiana. All he wanted to do was “go home to Tipton.” In his spare time, Tom enjoyed working with and training dogs.
Tom is survived by his daughters Tricia Diagostino (Jim) and Stacey Renie; and grandchildren Jude (Hannah), Hunter, Saul, and Julia Diagostino.

Eugene Neal Sanders
Mr. Eugene Neal Sanders, age 87, went from Labor to Reward on Saturday August 1, 2026, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Palmetto Region facility of Greenville, SC.
Born on December 30, 1938, to his late biological mother Mary Neal and Bessie Sanders who raised him in Laurens County.
He was dearly loved and will be missed by his sisters Ramona Fowler of Kokomo, IN, and Jerry McCall of Charlotte, NC; brothers Bernard Brown, Terry Brown, and Anthony Brown, all of Clinton, SC, Carl Brown of Greenville, SC; and countless other loving relatives and friends.
