The Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St., will host the second annual Father & Son Ball Out Event, on Sun., Dec. 22. This event is presented by The Penny Way, a regional basketball camp provider. The event runs from 5-7 p.m., but doors open at 4 p.m.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Well folks, just glancing at the calendar and walking through a number of local businesses, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! It seems like just a few weeks ago summer attire, suntan lotion, and fishing tackle were adorning all the aisles, but now Christmas trees and decorations, Christmas cards, and Black Friday advertisements are everywhere.
