The Very Early Childhood Education Center recently received a grant from the Symposium of Kokomo’s Ann Derby McCann Trust. The money will be used to purchase four large, educational toys for the center.

The check for $1,520 was presented on Nov. 7 by Symposium of Kokomo, the oldest women’s group in Howard County. Its members meet to study art, history, medicine, science, education, religion, and world affairs and celebrated their 125th year in Kokomo in 2022, when it was inducted into the Howard County Hall of Legends.

Earlier this fall, the Very Early Childhood Education Center learned that the building at 210 W. Walnut St. where it had been located had been sold. The center relocated operations on Nov. 1 to South Side Christian Church, 201 E. Markland Ave., at least temporarily.
