The sound of praise and worship will fill the air in Howard County this weekend as A Mighty Noise Christian Music Festival arrives at the Howard County 4H Fairgrounds Aug. 3-4.

The festival gets underway on Sat., Aug. 3, opening at 10 a.m. with vendor booths and the Josiah White's Family Fun Zone welcoming visitors.

The entertainment begins at 11 a.m. on the First Farmers Bank and Trust Main Stage with Jason Wise of Fight Club introducing those in attendance to the program, which combines physical and spiritual fitness. He will be followed by local teen rap and hip-hop artist Vance Rodgers at 11:30 a.m.

The North Stage fires up at 11 a.m. for a day of revival, witnessing, and spiritual growth. Rita Tattersall opens with her Bringing Balance Workshop. And from 1-4 p.m., the revival begins with Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Wayman Chapel AME Church, and Second Missionary Baptist Church leading worship. The stage also will host Fight the Darkness Ministries for a short session of witnessing and praise.

Back on the Farmers Bank and Trust stage, Madigan performs at 1:20 p.m., followed by the Chapel Hill Christian Church Praise and Worship Team at 2:15 p.m. and Joni Delon at 2:45 p.m.

Phil Petty and Nancy Olsen will offer their music ministry at 3 p.m., followed by Pastor Brian White at 3:45 p.m. The Jerome Christian Church Worship Team sings at 4:10 p.m.

The final three acts on the stage will be Amanda Foust & Daughter at 4:55 p.m., followed by the Northview Church Worship Team at 5:15 p.m. and the Fuel Church Worship Team at 6:30 p.m.

The stages are just part of the fun, praise, and worship taking place throughout the day. The Josiah White's Foster Care Family Fun Zone runs throughout the day, offering inflatable games, a huge Connect Four game, and miniature golf.

The Fun Zone also will feature the Mooney Creek Farm Petting Zoo from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Ms. Kate's Music and Puppet Show will entertain families at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

The CEF Good News Club will be featured in the Fun Zone at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and kids big and small can create spin art at 1:45 p.m. and 6 p.m.

In between the fun activities and performances, those in attendance can learn about equine assisted learning from Narrow Gate Horse Ranch, and there are more than 20 vendor booths with information and merchandise to visit in an air-conditioned space; a perfect respite from the anticipated heat. Those looking for A Mighty Noise commemorative t-shirts will be able to order them in the vendor area. There also will be plenty of food offered by a wide selection of food trucks.

Saturday's activities will be capped at 8 p.m. on the Century Fields Healthcare Stage as national Gospel recording artist Billy Ballenger performs. Ballenger and his wife, Jodie, bring a powerful testimony that attendees won't want to miss.

The praise and worship continue on Sunday as the main event takes place, beginning at 1 p.m. Everyone will learn why the festival is called A Mighty Noise, and then they'll be entertained by the Medicinal Bluegrass Band. Jodie Ballenger will share her harrowing tale of misery and pain, followed by miraculous deliverance, and Greentown's own Keyton Romero will finish the day in concert.

The entire event is free to attend, and camping is available on Saturday for a small fee. Freewill donations are accepted through Venmo @amightynoise
