Kokomo Common Council president seeking to replace Karickhoff at Statehouse
Ray Collins, a lifelong Hoosier, public servant, and Kokomo community leader, has officially announced his candidacy for State Representative of Indiana House District 30.
A graduate of Kokomo High School and former Wildkat basketball student-athlete, Collins has dedicated his career to serving the people of Howard County. His professional experience includes years of work within the justice system and various community-focused roles that emphasize integrity, accountability, and service to families.
In public office, Ray has served as a Kokomo Common Councilman since 2020, where he works to uphold principles that honor faith, family, and freedom. Since January 2023, he has served as President of the Council, helping to lead with integrity, accountability, and a servant’s heart.
Collins said his motivation to run is rooted in his commitment to strengthening Indiana communities through responsible leadership and a focus on core values.
“Our district deserves a representative who leads with conviction and fights for policies that strengthen families, support our workforce, and reflect our shared values,” Collins said. “I’m running to ensure our children have a strong future, our communities remain safe, and our community continues to grow with purpose.”
As a conservative candidate, Collins plans to champion legislation that prioritizes our children’s education, public safety, economic growth, and protecting the unborn. He also emphasizes servant leadership and the importance of faith, family, and community in guiding public policy.
“I believe strong leadership begins with humility and a servant’s heart,” Collins added. “I’m committed to representing every voice in District 30 with transparency, respect, and unwavering dedication.”
