The Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance has tapped Casie Braden to serve as the manager of the Downtown Association, stepping into the role following Susan Alexander’s departure.
After many years of dedicated service, Alexander is moving on from her position as Downtown Association manager to pursue new passions. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the experiences, traditions and vibrancy that define downtown Kokomo. From the Strawberry Festival and First Fridays to Keep Kokomo Beautiful, Artist Alley, and countless other initiatives, Alexander’s passion and commitment have left a lasting impact on both the Alliance and the broader community.
“We are deeply grateful for Susan’s longtime service and the tremendous imprint she has made in our downtown,” said Alliance President & CEO Lori Dukes. “Her work has helped create the welcoming, energetic district we all enjoy today.”
Effective immediately, Braden takes over the role after serving in a key administrative capacity within the Alliance, supporting multiple divisions, including extensive work with downtown partners and programs. Her experience coordinating events, assisting downtown businesses, and supporting day-to-day operations has given her a strong working knowledge of the initiatives that keep downtown Kokomo active and connected.
“Casie has already been an integral part of our downtown efforts,” Dukes said. “Her familiarity with our partners, programs, and community rhythms will ensure a smooth transition and continued momentum.”
In her new position, Braden will oversee downtown programming, serve as the primary contact for downtown partners, and collaborate with the Alliance team to support ongoing initiatives that enhance the downtown experience and beyond.
“I’m excited to continue working with our downtown community and help carry forward the traditions and partnerships that make this area so special,” Braden said.
As the Downtown Association enters this new chapter, the Alliance remains committed to maintaining and strengthening the events and initiatives that are central to Kokomo’s identity.
