More than 120 receive free health and wellness services in Kokomo on May 16
Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo hosted its inaugural Medical Mission at Home on May 16, providing free health and wellness services to more than 120 individuals in the Kokomo community who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing barriers to care.
During this one-day event, volunteer caregivers and community partners delivered a wide range of services at no cost, including medical and mental health care, no insurance or appointments required. This year’s event was made possible by the dedication of more than 80 volunteers, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, chaplains, associates, and community organizations who came together to serve.
Since its inception in 2008, Medical Mission at Home has provided care to thousands of individuals across Indiana, continuing Ascension St. Vincent’s Mission to serve all persons, with special attention to those most vulnerable.
For many patients, the event was more than a single visit. It was a connection to ongoing care. Care teams worked to schedule follow-up appointments and to link individuals with local providers and support services to ensure continuity of care beyond the event.
