On Thursday, July 16, the Reverend Matthew Swisher at Grace United Methodist Church will discuss what is happening to the immigrants captured by ICE and detained at the Miami Correctional Facility at the Howard County Area League of Women Voters meeting.
Over the last year, Reverend Swisher has been working with colleagues Reverend Chris Lantz and Reverend Matt Landry, organizing prayer vigils for the immigrant detainees outside of the Miami Correctional Facility. The vigils are held to remind us that all people are created in the image of a God who loves them and all are worthy of dignity and respect.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, at 3401 S. Dixon Road. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
