Make sure applying for the Lilly Foundation Scholarship is what's next for you

Welcome to your senior year! At the Community Foundation serving Howard, Clinton, and Carroll Counties, we love watching students like you reach this exciting milestone each year. Senior year is filled with unforgettable memories, important decisions and the excitement of discovering what’s next.

Earlier this summer, we celebrated our newest scholarship recipients with yard signs across Howard County. Seeing students recognized for their hard work reminds me of the incredible things happening across our communities, and now it’s your turn to begin thinking about what’s next.

As you begin planning for life after high school, I encourage you to apply for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. This scholarship opportunity provides full tuition, plus a yearly stipend for books and other required course materials, to any accredited four-year college or university in Indiana.

This year, applying is even easier. The Community Foundation uses one universal scholarship application that allows students to apply for multiple scholarships by completing a single application. Based on the information provided, students are automatically matched with the scholarships for which they are eligible. The 2027 Universal Scholarship Application will continue to be used for all other Community Foundation scholarships in addition to the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

To be considered for the Lilly Scholarship, students must submit their application and all required materials by August 31. After the August 31 Lilly deadline, the universal application will temporarily close before reopening on January 1 for all Community Foundation scholarships. It will remain open until March 1 for students applying for scholarships other than the Lily Scholarship.

Our team is here to help every step of the way. You’ll find scholarship resources, application details, and important deadlines on our website, and we’re happy to answer your questions. We want you to feel confident as you navigate the application process and prepare for what’s ahead.

We encourage the Class of 2027 to take advantage of this incredible opportunity, and we wish each applicant the very best throughout the scholarship process.
