‘Operation Butterball’ nets 40 arrests

Beginning in April 2025, investigators from the Kokomo Police Special Investigations Unit/Drug Task Force initiated “Operation Butterball.” During the course of the operation, Investigators were able to complete approximately 55 undercover controlled drug buys, resulting in approximately 25 search warrants executed and 40 arrests made.

In the course of the investigation, officers confiscated approximately 4½ pounds of methamphetamine, 1.2 pounds of cocaine, 0.75 pounds of heroin, and three ounces of fentanyl.

The Kokomo Police Department Special Investigations Unit/Drug Task Force was assisted during “Operation Butterball” by the K9 unit, patrol division, criminal investigations section of the department, along with the Howard County Sheriff’s Department Drug Task Force, K9 unit, and patrol division, Howard County Adult Probation, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The following individuals were arrested and charged with:

  • Kimber Irwin: Dealing Methamphetamine – Level 2 Felony, Level 3 Felony, and Level 4 Felony
  • Melissa Bray (Mendenhall): Dealing Methamphetamine – Level 3 Felony, Level 4 Felony, and Level 5 Felony
  • Kristin Summitt: Dealing in Cocaine – Level 3 Felony
  • Paula Mashburn: Dealing in Cocaine – Level 3 Felony
  • Zyonna Wilson: Dealing Methamphetamine – Level 4 Felony; Possession of Legend Drug or Precursor – Level 6 Felony; and Possession of Schedule II,III,IV Drug – Class A Misdemeanor
  • Dion Jones: Dealing Methamphetamine – Level 3 Felony and Dealing in Cocaine – Level 3 Felony and Level 4 Felony
  • Angela Woodard: Dealing in Cocaine – Level 4 Felony

Additional arrests are expected to be made in reference to “Operation Butterball” as multiple individuals remain at large.
